  • If you've been to Greenland it you'll realize how inaccessible these mineral deposits are. And with no roads connecting towns it becomes a logistical nightmare. Oh and the place is covered in thick ice and snow for 10 months of the year. There have been mining companies dying there for the last 50 years, 1. Because of legislation and 2 because it's virtually impossible to mine.

  • Left reddit when Sync stopped working. Been here ever since and I actually prefer it here anyway.

Reddit was and probably still is an echo chamber of bots and catch phrases. There were a few useful gems of information when you googled something, but now most of that content has become unreliable due to some people (like me) who salted and later deleted their comments before leaving.

  • Why has nobody mentioned the huge canine teeth in that photo.

    Chewing gum for dogs?

  • Took a trip to Cuba, one of the first things I noticed was lack of billboards and advertising in general. It was quite refreshing.

  • How do we tariff 'free' apps like Facebook and Instagram?

  • Greenland is not part of Europe, EU or the Schengen region. No visa or esta is required for entry.

Greenland is an autonomous territory in the Kingdom of Denmark, Danish Krone is used and Danish is spoken by many, although Greenlandic is more popular.

  • I'm seeing these too No image, no link, no anything

  • Exactly, it's all just smoke and mirrors.

"Hey, look over there while I do something under the tableā€œ

  • Thanks for the link.

In all my travels, in all the cafƩs, libraries, hotels and co-working spaces I've used around the world, never have I seen anyone pull out their own router.

I'm not dismissing it's potential or usefulness, I just think that for me to avoid adverts and to connect to a few streaming services from weird locations it might be a bit overkill.

  • šŸ’Æ This is absolutely true. I'll look at Proton. Thank you so much

  • Appreciated, however I'm down to a 45 liter carry on bag now and I literally have no space to carry my own router around.

  • I travel full time, so I don't have my own internet connection.

  • Like I said it will be unpopular, but it's about to expire anyway.

A more helpful response would be to recommend an alternative

  • Probably not a popular choice, but my VPN comes with an ad blocker which works great.

I'm still using Nord VPN as I got an insane deal a few years ago. Now it has something called Threat Protection which blocks all ads whether on my desktop browsers or on mobile.

✨Edit to add: Yeah down vote me. Nord was a blackfriday deal from 3 years ago. Much has changed since then.

I travel full time and I'm now in the market for a new VPN provider. I don't have my own router.. I don't even have a home.

Instead of just down voting, perhaps come with some constructive ideas or suggestions, thank you! ✨
