I'm not pretending, I'm just old. :) Not interested in any of that. You probably realize that there is an age when you just stop caring about all that shit. If not, you will see for yourself later in life.

Typical Elon :) The guy cheats and lies routinely but cries when someone else does it. What's up with billionaries having no self relection whatsoever... Maybe it's built into them and part of why they think of themselves so highly.

Yeah you are right about the apps probably. I haven't ever used them but of course they have that built in. :)

I think it's fairly common that people do some math in their head, specially when they get older than 30. Because it doesn't matter really, you never need to tell anyone how old you are anymore. Well unless you use dating apps I guess, or date people... Nobody else asks your age.

India is at like 13.7% Linux which pulls the average up a lot. In the USA and western Europe we are still under 3%, kind of.

But still, I'm happy for so many users escaping Microsofts claws.

You don't need coding, don't worry. :) It's useful to start learning the Linux command line however.

I remember in the beginning when leaving windows how quiet everything was. No notifications from windows about all kinds of shit, no ads and no interruptions. Have you noticed how calm it feels?

Fair point. I guess it's easy to overreact to these things since we are all tired of not being respected privacy-wise.

I think like 99% of people picked accounts on the top 10 servers, and there are hundreds of more servers out there that have only a few users. Why do you all flock to the same server (Lemmy.world in particular) and then go "shit this is getting expensive guys". :)

This technology supports speeding out, so many people (instance admins) share the costs.

Have to agree with others, we don't want the majority from reddit here. They helped to turn reddit into crap.

I would rather see this be like the Linux community. Just a few percent of users, but all very motivated and interested in Linux.

If you spend too much time in Microsoft-land or Enterprise-ville, you will start to see everything as vendors. But in the open source world it's different.
