  • One of the most common misconceptions in the community itself is that there are absolute states of security and privacy. There aren't.

You can't defend against anything, you must consider your threat model before doing any advice given to you on privacy forums.

The threat model of everything possible drives people to schizophrenia. You will lose possible interactions with people as well as potential friendships, because you give out an aura of a weirdo.

  • on Android

GrapheneOS is still not perfect. The general consensus among people is that running QubesOS with a Whonix/Kicksecure container is the best you can get atm but even that it is not perfect.

The point of the Linux insecurities article is to fight common misconception by the FOSS community that using a Linux distro is going to solve every single security concern you might have. It does not mean, however, that Linux is inherently insecure and shouldn't be used.

The author himself had said he uses Linux and Firefox despite what he wrote in the posts.

  • There are lots and lots of possible reasons for this to happen, so people will need some more information to help you find the issue.

Are you able to boot it at all after it shuts down? How often does it "randomly" get shut down? How do you determine your battery has 50% before it shuts down? Can you check if it happens on other operating systems? What does "it complains" mean, is it a warning in journalctl? Also, please post precise outputs of any errors you might see in journalctl at the time it shuts down.
