  • Fair enough, I was only there for a handful of years, but did get to see an NDP premier so was happy with that. I was more meaning that the history is there, Alberta has historically supported NDP politics (especially since as I said, the CCF originates there) and the people I know who were born and raised there definitely still do. Alberta's work/corporate culture I do legitimately miss compared to the bay street one I deal with now, I found it more open and willing to try things for example.

  • I don't, my psych straight-up told me they're not recommended or frankly needed for most people, definitely something you should consider talking to your doctor about your treatment plan. Personally I've not seen any decrease in efficacy with 4 years of vyvanse not due to work stress or poor sleep, but every person reacts differently to medication.

  • I kept them with linear rods, rails were more than I wanted to do at the time. I changed over to a dragon HF after liking it on my voron, just to keep common parts. Hey, its good to know at least that I can probably push more, tuning a profile for it is definitely going to be on my list.

The ObXidian nozzles are really nice, I just have a 0.4mm and 0.6mm regular nozzles, I've used a bunch of hardened coated nozzles before, seem nicer than those but haven't tested much.

  • I bear modded mine at the same time and a few other things, biggest for me was that I liked my macros on my voron and I could share them and the motors are substantially quieter.

I haven't pushed it acceleration wise, do you have any print profiles for prusaslicer or the like? I definitely have room to work with on mine.

  • The ones I have have some speakers aimed at your ear to fill in that part, actually works really well. I can't stand the ear buds you physically insert into your ears, the rubber tipped ones, these have been good to replace my on ears for activity. Plus you can hear what's around you which is why my partner gifted me them.

  • Was my first experience with source control, a bunch of Gary's Mod mods were distributed that way, think I recall wiretool doing that, spacebuild was for sure, predated my work use by like 5ish years.

I didn't hate it but definitely prefer git, but I'll take literally anything over not having it,

  • For me, something to either research or look into later. Not a work task but either supports them it just pure interest.

Yeah it's inspired somewhat by bullet journalling, I just found a version of it I could stick to.

  • What is the flavour of them? You don't see them on shelves here, my partner grabbed rootbeer a while back and it was foul, like overwhelming chicory flavour I think?

Cove does this type of stuff that actually tastes decent if you want an occasional soft drink, they do kombucha too, there's stevia sweetened brands too out there.

  • Ultimately use what works for you, digital only doesn't for me, I end up using whatever project tool the project uses (often az devops or jira) for large tasks, but I've kept logbooks/journals since uni using a symbol system that makes sense to me, refine it over time especially in the last 8 years or so. A star is important, ? Bubble is investigation, o is a regular task/thought, arrows for sub/related thoughts. Also like to tag my commit messages with my ticket/item number, some systems auto link them but even without, nice to have that linkage for recollection.

I'm not the best at indexing but everything is dated, memory is usually solid enough to recall the types of work I did in a period so been able to pull up past stuff pretty readily when need be. I have ADHD so found that externalised thought works well for me, I tend to spend a bit in the morning reviewing the day prior or time at the end of the day moving stuff I've not got to. Generally they're notes while working, just to capture frame of mind or future ideas. I could see using markdown for the same idea, but I've seen suggestions that paper notes are better for retention and anecdotally I've found that to be true.

Has actually helped a few times for cyoa purposes, but that's a secondary benefit to me. My email inbox is horrendous (so much advertising and spam emails for people who don't work here anymore but were on my team so they're forwarded to me), even my BACN filters aren't perfect and I frankly don't bother reading everything. Should delete or purge more often but if it's important, I'll read it and make a ticket.

  • Considering that is nearly exactly some of the answers I've received during the technical part of interviews for jr data eng, you're probably not far off.

Shit I've seen solutions done up that look like that, fighting the optimiser every step (amongst other things)

  • Found an old CBC clip of him talking about Omar Khadr, this was after the scoc ruling about his treatment at gitmo. This clip's at least 15 years old. I think I recall him pulling shit like this too when Khadr received a settlement for his rights being violated, him and Rempel Gardner.

I find him (PP) reprehensible, the Tories in general, just gross. Harper should be kryptonite for the Tories like Bob Rae somehow is for the NDP in Ontario, he trailblazed the shit the yanks are doing now (and you know, the whole idu thing, getting people like orban elected)
