  • In Canada we’re supposed to be limited to 42% going to housing costs and that’s how they determine how much mortgage they’ll approve. I think most people are hitting that mark if not finding ways of going over.

  • Non American here. How are undocumented immigrants being taxed? I assumed pay would be more cash or under the table because they can’t get bank accounts. I thought that no bank account would mean no income tax, no property tax. Sales tax?

  • Me too and got my diagnosis which at least put those incidents into perspective and gave me help that would actually make a difference instead of just trying to judge myself into “being better” or “normal”.

    The growing consensus is that true workaholism encompasses four dimensions: motivations, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, says Malissa Clark, an industrial/organizational psychologist at the University of Georgia in Athens. In 2020, Clark and colleagues proposed in the Journal of Applied Psychology  that, in sum, workaholism involves an inner compulsion to work, having persistent thoughts about work, experiencing negative feelings when not working, and working beyond what is reasonably expected.

    Labs have begun offering a variety of tests that can detect certain signs of Alzheimer’s in blood. Scientists are excited by their potential but the tests aren’t widely used yet because there’s little data to guide doctors about which kind to order and when. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration hasn’t formally approved any of them and there’s little insurance coverage.
