Thanks for the write up! I’m Canadian with family members in the military and the vibes different and I never really knew why. Your post helps put it into perspective.

I like Legal Eagle (lawyer gives some good context for current events especially), Some More News (deep dives into social or political issues), and Plain Bagel (finance). I’m not a big YouTube person but these are literally the only three I’ll go check if they have new content.

Jesus that feels dark. The contract, the conditions, down to treating this guy like a god. The not getting medication, dietary restrictions, and underwear are very upsetting things to be incompetent about!

I’m so burned out from years of multiple jobs and schooling while working. I’ve cut my expenses down as much as I reasonably can and now just slowly drain my savings and sell things off waiting for my oomf to come back to get another job again. But I’m so tired.

In Canada we’re supposed to be limited to 42% going to housing costs and that’s how they determine how much mortgage they’ll approve. I think most people are hitting that mark if not finding ways of going over.

Non American here. How are undocumented immigrants being taxed? I assumed pay would be more cash or under the table because they can’t get bank accounts. I thought that no bank account would mean no income tax, no property tax. Sales tax?
