  • District 9. Leave Wikus in.

  • MAGA was right about DEI hires all along. Just sucks they only apply t negative connotations to DEI for women and people of color. Whites can't possibly be DEI!

    Their racism is exhausting.

  • Nah you're right. 30 might be too young!

  • The old adage I learned is half your age + 7.

    51/2 25.5+7 32.5

Seems you would be good aiming a little low! However, no harm in meeting someone new!

  • The first rule of gen-x is you don't talk about gen-x!

  • Sorry, I should have specified that I made the same declaration when all this shit started. I agree completely and do think that is a signal of someone badass! No sarcasm intended!

  • Yes, give into your hate!

    expensive car AI, probably

  • You said it. Never had a bad time in Canada and I'd like to see Greenland one day!

  • Did the previous comment further incense your ire toward birds?

  • This guy was first picked during dodge ball!

  • Installing stuff, then looking online for a way to fix an annoyance, find a script to fix a StackOverflow post that vaguely matches our issue, only to break that thing even more. Rinse and release, ad nauseum.

  • No one admits when they don't know something. The mentality of, fake it until you make it, casts ignorance as some sort of failure to be ridiculed. As a result we have politicians and laymen believing they can do something or know better than experts on a specific topic.

The other is the complete lack of humility or embarrassment when fucking up. People will just stream or post their most idiotic ideas to get 'views,' even if it makes them look terrible. This idea where you need to live-stream your entire life baffles me. Not sure if this falls under the tech and social media restriction of this post.

  • I'd care a hell of a lot less about the amount if it felt like it was being used for anything other than padding rich assholes pockets. I want my taxes to feed and help people, repair and maintain roads, and subsidies public transit. I guess I'm saying I want my money to help my community and the vulnerable, not sit in some rich fuckers bank account while a homeless settlement I drive by daily grows, tent by tent.

  • My parents', stop crying or I will give you something to cry about, keeps me from being able to handle my 5yo when he's getting emotional or crying about something I see as trivial or is a resolved conflict.

I feel embarrassed when someone, even my wife, sees me cry. I usually break down alone and as quietly as possible to avoid being caught. I'm better at letting that shit go, now, and allow myself to break down in front of my wife, but no one else.

  • There was also that time he didn't check the expiration date on the milk and wrote, Mein Klumpfs.

  • Don't feel bad. Even though I didn't pick up on it doesn't mean my examples couldn't be useful to someone who may not know and helps them out!

If I could ask, how did you pick your Lemmy name? Does it mean something?

  • That seems to matter little to this regime. So, I ask again, what happens when they clash? We saw them stage a situation and try to arrest sitting members of congress and a mayor. In a sane world, you are correct. We don't live in that world so subordination doesn't matter!

  • So what happens if the thugs in the DoJ clash with this judicial security? Are they prepared to turn their weapons on the DoJ officers? If not, then this is only to protect judges from stochastic terrorism at the hands of tRump supporters. Dark passages up ahead, I fear.

  • Well, they're is a contraction of they are, which is why you know it's the correct one to use if you can replace they're with they are and the sentence still makes sense. The word their is possessive so if you're talking about someone or even something possessing something else, you would use their. There is in reference to something or somewhere else.

I can't remember the specific rules I was taught in school, but I still know the correct usage many years later.

There was a snake over there, they're trying to find it now, cause it isn't native and none of our friends say it is their snake!
