Best shift I ever worked was 4x10s overnight. I would do it again in a heartbeat if my current employer allowed it.
Not sure about others, but I always have a burst of motivation about 2-hrs after lunch. Usually, this mental focus is shattered by the ending work day. If I could work two extra hours, complete the focused thing I'm working on, and have a whole other weekend day why would I not take it?
That's a really good idea! I'm about 5-8 hours from the Canadian boarder but I will not fight for a fascist country. I'll either join the other side or join a resistance here.
That's the point, I think, as well. I could see Putin using the useful idiot to destroy the primary rival to its superiority. The US is incredibly difficult to invade. The intelligence apparatus is too ingrained in all our communication to avoid detection. If you can't get the rot to start from the outside, go for the inside.
It's cute how so many in the comments think the legal checks will prevent this. They don't care about the law or the Constitution in the same way they don't care about optics, hypocrisy, decorum, or process. People keep viewing this through the lense of American democracy. None of that matters to fascists.

Hopefully, if this happens, Democrats don't take the high road and lay this at their feet. I hate how the govt. spends my tax dollars but I'd gladly see it used to air non-stop ads about all the horrible shit they do over the next 4+ years on Faux News. Just blast that shit every break until people either listen or get pissed and stop watching.
I hope to see this before the EoL date set for Windows 10 and a bunch of people throw out perfectly good machines to buy something that works with Windows 11.
Personally, I won't use Windows 11 on my home machines. But my concern is that I install a distro this year and want to switch to SteamOS later, but would have to start over with customizations, etc. in the new distro. I wish SteamOS was available now for gaming rigs!
You might be on to something with the demographic make-up of the platform. There are a lot of users from countries outside the US and for Americans used to seeing the opinions, primarily, of other Americans being the norm, it can seem like an attack on the country and their colossal fuck-ups recently are an attack on Americans, themselves.
It seems similar to the backlash felt by a lot of minorities when given rights closer to, or equal of, whites in this country. I don't have a pony in this race, but it seems this is just human nature. We just don't like competition and American exceptionalism is ingrained in almost every school book we are presented with.
That being said, I think you could point to some people being assholes to others. Just as I don't blame all citizens of Jerusalem for the genocide in Gaza, nor all Russians for the invasion of Ukraine, nor all Americans for tRump, I think some people equate the citizen with the government like some sort of sports rivalry or deeply ingrained tribalism.
This is, however, just the opinion of an American who took off their rose-colored, exceptionalism glasses a long time ago.
