The video is 11 hours of a static room. Even in the age of AI, it's totally impossible to fake. Technology can't yet take another 11 hour video and slap a different timestamp on it, we're at least 1000 years away from that. So it's definitely real. Nothing to see here guys.

I just had a kid and I also believe the world is on fire. Firstly we're extraordinarily privileged and even then I wasn't sure. Secondly we just wanted to and are able to, it's not excessively stressful because we have enough money and good jobs (my panic attacks have been the normal new parent variety, not the "world is on fire" kind), I've prepared for years. Third I guess it gives me some hope. Our kid will have their own path. But whatever they choose they'll be trained to spot disinformation and religious thinking like a sane adult so that gives me some hope. Hopefully it's enough to counteract the 100 other Idiocracy right wing children.

That would make more sense in theory. I think we're past the point of civility though.

We should execute those who wield influence who make homophobic or transphobic comments in this way, by public hanging, immolation, or firing squad. I will literally vote for this.

Situation: There are 15 competing political parties

We're flooded with disinformation. Even smart, left leaning people in my circle are spouting crazy lies as if it's truth. It takes hours to dispell a single lie if they're patient enough to listen, seconds to form it. It started maybe in 2016. 99% of our news and Internet search results are like Cold War propaganda. Don't think it won't happen to you either, I'm very sorry if it does.

It's like 100 people pulling the strings. Those stupid people will vote in their best interest even if they don't understand it, with disinformation removed from the picture.
