  • See other comments here. Long term this is what employees prefer. I work in a company that does a bit of universal bonus and doesn’t skimp on salary increases and that’s much better than me getting 20% yearly salary as an arbitrary bonus because I can’t depend on it to be there the next year.

  • Someone giving something away for free doesn’t mean other have to. Different companies can think what’s best for them independently. They don’t owe us anything because we live in capitalism.

  • The biggest lesson from The Big Short movie is that you can be right at predicting a bubble for years but politicians and financieers can stall until they exit the market and everyone else has to deal with the aftermath.

  • I work for a company that does profit sharing which is paid out equally to all regular employees, definitely beats circus that happened in places that did arbitrary bonuses. Best place I worked at even though I was a beneficiary of those arbitrary bonuses. You can plan if you know what your profit sharing is based on and people like financial stability.

  • Just days after I wrote financial mags are scared to address this :p

  • This is something real to get angry over, for people looking for reasons, you’re welcome ;)

  • PS5 gamers are in for a treat. This game was released in already polished state but they’re only making it nicer and nicer.

  • I think you missed the point of the article. The Switch 2 is getting exclusive versions of older games that you have to buy a second time, at full price, on new hardware.

So this is same as buying Crysis and then having to pay for remaster on PC. And a new PC to run it.

Really? So the PS5 can play Crash Bandicoot? Because my PC can still play the copy of Half-Life that I bought in 2006.

I won’t be defending PS5, situation there is dire, you could purchase Crash on PS3 in 2006 but it’s stuck there, hence I play on Xbox. I can play some games from original Xbox, loads from 360 (and I hope more since MS bought Activision) and everything from XbOne.

Crysis was released 20 years ago. TOTK was released 2 years ago.

This is not the point since author wonders if he should wait with replaying even more, until Switch 3.

This whole thing is about something else entirely, I don’t know why we’re arguing over this but I’m bored at a hospital so I can go on :D

  • There is backwards compatibility on all consoles at the moment, and it’s likely to become a standard moving on. I can play Crysis from X360 or remaster from XOne on my Series X.

My point with that 8800GT is that you need new hardware for the remaster anyway so it’s pretty much like consoles.

  • Nintendo is pretty good at keeping their game sizes low historically so I wouldn’t worry about them specifically. I expect some AAA game ports from modern systems to require additional downloads however, mostly because those game carts have very high read speeds and will get prohibitively expensive fast for very large games like Cyberpunk.

  • Author ponders where is the perfect time to play a game because they get improved versions so commonly now. What platforms they release on isn’t that relevant because I’m not going to be able to play Crysis remaster on a Nvidia GeForce 8800GT like the original, no?

  • Can you provide a source behind locking games unless upgrade pack is purchased?

  • Then I think you missed the point of the article.

  • Source? Switch 2 is backwards compatible. Why would this game not work?

  • Games don’t get upgraded releases on PC? That sucks.

  • First paragraph:

Nintendo has confirmed that Switch 2 editions of original first-party Switch games will have the full game on the card rather than requiring a download - though that may not be the case for third-party titles.

  • You can play your copy of TOTK on Switch 2 without paying. Upgrade with enhanced graphics and new features is paid. Nobody is taking anything away from you. Nobody promised anything more.

  • Nintendo employs people who eat. Go explain why you want to freeload to someone who believes it ;)

  • This is integrated to the point the app is aware where in the world you are. It’s okay to charge for new things, one reason being that people eat and food costs money.

  • Does this run well? It looks impressive to the point I’m not sure if this is real gameplay but then again Nintendo requires real footage on their channel AFAIK.
