  • Yeah, but Elton doesn’t write many of his own lyrics. Bernie Taupin writes the lyrics, Elton writes the melodies.

  • I mean, with the draft going on, I can understand. I wonder if those identified as anti-establishment have already been shipped off to the front line.

  • The Fat Mac (512k) my dad bought to run inventory for his store. I was probably 2 or 3 playing games like Count-on-Mac and version of the memory game called, I think, Concentration. I’d also mess around in Mac Paint and later got into Pinball Construction Set.

  • I’d say he was recreating a scene from “The Mighty Ducks,” but I know Disney and the Florida government aren’t seeing eye-to-eye these days.

  • Spider-Man: Miles Morales got its Steam release in November of last year, but I didn’t get to it until after New Years. The Steam Deck handled it really well, which just makes me pissed that Insomniac signed a PlayStation exclusivity agreement for Spider-Man 2.

  • Using violence, or the threat of violence, to affect the course of politics, that’s the definition of terrorisim, is it not?

  • China hasn’t demonstrated the ability to execute a sustained naval campaign far from their home ports in the past. They’re a green water navy with blue water aspirations. While this would be a good chance to practice long range deployments and air defense strategies, with the eyes of the world focused on the Red Sea, they don’t want to risk screwing up and loosing national prestige.

  • How is 157 hundreds? It barely rounds up to 200, and that’s all US flights, not just Southwest. That’s a drop in the bucket compared to total daily flights in the country.

  • The character’s name is Nebula. L

In episode 1x06 of Voyager, they encounter a gas cloud that could provide resources to allow more use of the replicators. A caffeine-deprived Janeway has a famous line, “There’s coffee in that nebula.”

  • Well, according to the Citizens United decision, corporations are people and money is speech, so a company deciding with who they’re going to spend money is protected speech.

  • How about the capitol police who responded to the January 6th riot? Did he even think the whole statement through?

  • We never see a Great Link Changeling before Odo meets them at the start of season 3. Perhaps they’re emulating Odo to give the Alpha Quadrant as little info as possible. Lass, another one of the 100 infants the Link sends out as scouts, along with Odo, assumes a different face. More brow ridges, but the same hair.

  • The D’s saucer is an oval, wider than it is long (“the fat one”). Voyager’s saucer is long pointy, kind of shaped like a spoon.

  • Cheese, beef tartare, and Soylent Green.

  • Jumping on the personal top 5 bandwagon:

    • Keep Us Connected
    • We are One
    • How Would That Feel
    • Status Report
    • The TOS end credit theme (Not on the soundtrack, but it’s played right after We Are One, when everyone celebrates the McGuffin being fixed.)
  • And Car Talk itself was a call in show for car repair advice that aired weekly on NPR. The two brothers became famous enough in the car world to get cameos in the Cars films as Lightning McQueen’s sponsors, the Rust-eze brothers.

  • There was a lot of that in that era. Arcade games had financial incentive to be hard as players would tolerate to eat as many quarters as possible. The home ports carried this difficulty over, and many console originals picked up on it. (See Battletoads.)

  • Chakotay was field commissioned as a commander and made captain within 5 years of Voyager’s return.

  • I was going to propose prisoner of war Bashir as a third picture.

  • He can commiserate with his department head in Ten Forward later.
