  • The use of Russian engines on the Atlas dates back to a Clinton program after the collapse of the USSR. With the Soviet Union no longer able to pay its rocket scientists, it was thought that it was better that the United States pay them for their expertise rather than some other more hostile government gain access to their knowledge.

  • Russia invading Ukraine has complicated any future dealings with them, especially when there’s a domestic alternative.

  • She plays big stadiums & arenas. There aren’t really any slight lines to the stage that aren’t inside the facility. Trump was giving a speech in a field, with neighboring buildings outside the security perimeter.

TL;DR: Taylor Swift draws bigger crowds than Donald Trump, and is probably safer for it.

  • Something he and Nikki Haley have in common. Trump was happy to have her, despite earlier saying anyone who voted for her was permanently banned from MAGA, so really it’s the perfect match.

  • Sounds perfect to watch on a KFConsole.

  • The way this usually works out is you loose all the good employees and you’re left with the dregs who were unable to find another remote position in time.

  • The 90’s Star Wars arcade game would be nice, but it’d require a licensing deal with Disney, so it’s probably never going to happen as a Yakuza minigame.

  • The Yakuza games are very serious crime dramas with absolutely bonkers side quests and minigames.

  • This thread reminds me I need to get over to Funspot. They’ve got a great collection of classic arcade and pinball machines. Web site claimed 600 games, but some of that is newer stuff, or mechanical games like Skiball and Wack-a-mole, which aren’t video games. Probably 300 vintage units, though. Haven’t made a pilgrimage this calendar year, though, so it doesn’t count.

  • There’s always good old Discord, you just need WiFi.

  • I think this policy is a mistake. I think the US should be moving away with tipping, and this will just make it harder. European restaurants work this way and don’t seem to be suffering.

I hate having to judge a waitress, barber, or driver after receiving service then doing math on the bill. Worse yet is housekeeping at a hotel; you’re expected to leave them a tip when you don’t even know what kind of job they’re going to do. Just charge me on the bill whatever it costs to pay these people fairly and stop making me make up the difference.

  • Does he know they don’t speak English there?

  • Polonium allergies are more common than you think.

  • I’d love to, but it’s the wrong way up the now one-way street.

  • I don’t know, the name always makes me think of the crazy vampire woman that Buffy never managed to slay.

  • This action will probably reduce pressure on the defensive lines in Ukraine, too, as Putin has to redeploy troops the defend Kursk and any supply lines that run through it.

  • You may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space.

  • The various decedents of Rockefeller’s Standard Oil keep one Standard station open in each of the states they operate in so they can maintain their “Standard Oil of
