  • I live in a house build in the late 1800s. There are names and dates carved into the brick facade from 70 years ago. I think that is kinda cool.

  • I literally once saw a death thread there about someone making a cake supposedly wrong...

  • Understandable, but sucks. Hope it won't last long.

  • They are also who mostly finances the development of very many Foss products. So still better than closed source, as small companies and the general public can also use those products.

  • Where you still wait 30 minutes and pay much more than those charging at home.

So: no. That is not what I mean. That is a pretty much useless imo, there are so many charging stations everywhere and they are mostly empty whenever I see one anyways (maybe, just maybe, because depending on a EV is so difficult for almost everyone living in flat?).

I live in the city and am lucky to almost never need a car. Many of my neighbours need a car though for various reasons. There is not a single EV car in the whole neighborhood of several thousand people. And guess the reason: it is impossible to switch to one. And this law proposed here will do zero to change that.

You see a shitload of EV cars in the suburbs though.

  • That is why it should be solved by our politicians. They cannot always leave the main burden to the poor and the middle class...

  • They should concentrate on making EVs financially more plausible for people without an electrified garage. Half of Germany lives in flats, most without an own parking space and will pay much more for charging their EV with much less comfort. And politics seem to completly ignore that.

  • Burning a tree also sets free a lot of CO2. :) Heating with wood is not sustainable at all, unlike some lobbyist made us beliveve.

But yeah, oil would have been the more obvious example.

  • Hm? The homeopathic approach to climate change would be to dissolve a tree in 100,000m³ of alcohol, pour that into the ocean and wait for results.

  • Yeah, I wouldn't want a car without e.g. a trip computer. But I also defintly don't want a "smart car".

  • Lol, completly forgot that page exists. Will have to check it out. Used to follow it, but then he was talking about his baby in the cartoons...

  • Oh, I live in Germany. My children walk or go by kick scooter. :) But yes, I hope so.

  • Because if you also used coconut milk and a westernized Curry powder this is basically Germanies national fall dish. As soon as the temperatures fall, everyone does it (but butternut squash came like only 10 years ago, it is red kuri squash traditionally).

Just thought maybe you are German as Germans post this type of pictures all over social media at this time of the year. But it is probably not only Germany. :)

  • Are you from Germany? :)

  • Tbh, I really enjoyed the lockdowns. We have young children and I got to spend so much time with them. I got much closer to them than I ever could have without covid. Was stressful though my wife and I had to work in shifts, so that one of us could be with the children, so long days.

But now they are in school and I think lockdowns are not that great for young school-children. So, I am undecided. Maybe a lock down excluding schools up to year 8 or so.
