  • However, society obeyed to those rules.

We did but we're paying for it now with the rise of "-isms" whose values are built on stifling change. 2-3 years of rapid change might have helped redefine an era of politics for the contrary. TBD I guess.

  • I think as someone who did "the things", and that's how I live now, it's hard to look around and see basically no perceptible difference. The incentive is slim for the individual. The bulk of the population is never going to make those changes.

  • Didn't go as planned! I'll beat you at that game :)

  • Just need to add more users than we lose. Lots of good things ahead, I see a bright future here.

  • I can't quite figure out the purpose of the votes here and I think I just prefer to comment instead of giving an up/down.

I think the up/down thing also promotes shorter comments, at least it did for me, since I know it can be hard to totally agree with someone who is making several points so I tried to keep it short and to the point. Which is dumb, because difficult topics are complex and deserve more words thrown at them not less.

Maybe the utility of the votes for me is when I don't know what I want to say in a reply, but I want to express something. Then I vote.

  • Filthy beansucker

  • I don't really mind that my battery doesn't work well. It lasts through the day, though I'm perpetually at 40% or less and I don't use it that much. If it's really a problem then a battery bank charge mid day totally fixes it.

However, if I could replace the battery for $50 I would.

  • oh right. I guess generated content is a lot for common now than it used to be. I'm also not a fan. Map design suffers for it.

  • This is the problem I've always had with instragram. For a while I was storing certain pictures on there only because it seemed like a good place to store them that I could share with people if the time ever came for that (it didn't). The engagement side of things looked very slim.

  • Handheld gaming is on average more fun than console or PC gaming.

  • The english dub in BOTW is distractingly bad because it wasn't written for english. The characters saying ridiculous things sounds better when it's in Japanese, and most of the time with Nintendo games it doesn't even matter what they are saying it's just sound.

  • What's a static game?

  • I don't think fashion advice needs to be googleable?

I could post a picture of me wearing a shirt and ask people what their opinion is and then everyone moves. Doesn't need to be archived on the net

  • They went to substack for their wiki/guides content and discord for everything else. Different. Maybe it'll fit their social model better than a forum kind of place. I prefer my local mechanical keyboard discord over the much bigger subreddit.

Good to see that r/accidentalRenaissance is moving to kbin/lemmy. Also seems like a good fit for them here.

  • Oof. How are you managing? I'm in Canada and I'm finding inflation/wages to be incredibly stressful. 10 consecutive interest rates raises. Groceries up 20-40%. Cost of housing has doubled. Electricity + water is still dirt cheap though. Video games are way too expensive for me, library or bust.

  • Scotch Super33+ Hmm I think I've seen that packaging before. I'll have a look for it next time I go to the store.
