  • I did. I forgot to mention that. The actual problem was that the funnel no longer sealed tightly with the water container. Using thread tape repaired the seal. Replacing the funnel would also work, but thread tape is very inexpensive.

  • It is the terminology required by the NHTSA regulations. Those regulations were obviously written before software updates were relevant to automobile components. The public documentation of defects are ‘recall notices’ by regulation.

  • Because tesla has to comply with the regulations just like every other manufacturer, and that includes notification of recall issues and remedies. The use of the term 'recall' is of course outdated, but that is irrelevant. How the manufacturer remedies the defect has always been up to the manufacturer, as long as they comply with the regulatory process, most of which is simply documentation, like issuing recall notices.

  • For example, a business routinely dumps its toxic waste into a watershed, polluting that watershed and imposing huge costs on all the other users of the watershed that require non-toxic water. As this lowers the 'market price' for the goods produced by the business, the incentive is to always do this rather than pay the cost of safely processing the toxic waste.   • A huge part of the american voting public views politics as a sport and they have their team 'red' or 'blue', and that is who they vote for. If they can express any reasons other than 'my team' for their vote, it is a regurgitation of talking points from their team's propaganda system.
