  • No, social media is not just for pictures.

But if someone is using it just for pictures and you try to sell them on a service that isn't fitting to their use case, that's on you if they're not interested.

Know your audience. Offer them alternatives that actually fit their preferences, not yours.

  • The first season of Andor is some of the best TV I have ever watched. Its incredibly well done.

The second season is still good, just not great. Apparently there were originally supposed to be 5 seasons, and it kind of shows that they compacted it all into two. The highs of season 2 are on par with season 1, but its just not as consistently excellent.

The ending isn't a grand finale, but it can't be. The grand finale is Rogue One. I didn't have a problem with it because I always had RO in mind as the last, extra long episode.

1000% still worth a watch. Easily the best Star Wars content to have come out in the Disney era by a mile.

  • In the original Jurassic Park novel by Michael Crichton, one of the animals they've cloned are these giant dragonflies. Its only one line in the book (Tim, one if the kids, sees one fly by and recalls reading about them) but it caught my attention as just straight impossible. I remember thinking, "Unless you're somehow controlling the oxygen level of the air around this entire island, there's no way that bug can't breathe."

  • Well, a billion kilometers is almost 7 times the mean distance between the earth and the sun. Asteroids pass in that distance all the time. We're currently closer to Ceres (the dwarf planet) than that and its on the other side of the sun from us.

  • Copilot is a LLM. So it's just predicting what should come next, word by word, based off the data its been fed. It has no concept of whether or not its answer makes sense.

So if you've scraped a bunch of open source github projects that this guy has worked on, he probably has a lot of TODOs assigned to him in various projects. When Copilot sees you typing "TODO(" it tries to predict what the nextthing you're going to type is. And a common thing to follow "TODO(" in it's data set is this guy's username, so it goes ahead and suggests it, whether or not the guy is actually on the project and suggesting him would make any sort of sense.

  • Polaris is absolutely NOT the brightest star in the sky. Not even close.

How to actually find it: Find the big dipper (I know you know what it looks like). Take the two stars at the front end of the "cup" part. Draw a line through them "up" and out of the cup until you hit a star. That's it.
