Skeleton Crew and the "Goonies" tropes and the reverse "Treasure Island/Planet/Location" is not a bad premise to start the series, kind of like its a "kids" show, "kid" friendly, but not "family" centric with single parents everywhere who have abrogated their responsibilities as parents by "working very hard". Part of parenting is to provide a stable AND attentive environment for kids. You don't work yourself to death leaving your kids to whimsy and the winds and strangers to take care of them or brainwashing them.
