  • I don’t have Apple TV, and I was irritated that I’d be missing Foundation. The more I hear about it, though, the less irritated I am.

  • Nothing to add. I just want to compliment you on taking a mental health break from political subjects. I think that’s something more people should do.

  • The injustices constantly change, along with the victims and perpetrators, depending on how far back in history you look. No party is a clear hero or villain. What Hamas has done is inexcusable, but killing more civilians is not the answer.

  • I think the ones that don’t mean anything, but became memes simply because they’re absurd, will trip them up at first. I’ve had to explain that there’s absolutely no hidden meaning behind Woman Yelling at a Cat. It’s just a funny juxtaposition of pictures.

  • “Right temperament” = won’t make a fuss while being treated like shit

  • Picard (who I love dearly) is written SO BADLY around the prime directive that episodes involving it are difficult to watch.

I’m curious - what makes you think so?

  • Berman’s early comment, “I don’t believe the 24th Century is going to be like Gene Roddenberry believed it to be,” really struck me. Frankly, I don’t have a whole lot of faith in humanity, either.

If I’d had his job, though, instead of using my influence on Star Trek to try and tone down the progressiveness, I’d welcome the opportunity to be optimistic. I’d tell that nagging voice in my head to shut up, and I’d encourage the writers to come up with thoughtful, creative, insightful, socially aware stories.

Maybe the lack of “Bermanesque” influences is why I like Strange New Worlds so much!

  • If they got another season or two, as they had planned at one point, I think Ezri would have been great. Still, though, she did a surprisingly good job with the short time she had.

But yeah, I missed Jadzia too.

  • Exceptional. I’m glad this man and his wife were finally able to live the life they deserved, and see their daughters grow up free.

  • I confused Patrick Bateman with Jason Bateman and had no idea what you were talking about. “The Arrested Development guy killed people? What the fuck!”

  • Huh. What? Maybe it’s stuck in my subconscious. I don’t remember it.

  • Surprisingly, yes

  • No porn? Use your imagination. She’s being eaten out by her girlfriend, who is holding up the can of beans.

  • There’s a reason your fond memories aren’t recent. Jezebel is officially shutting down now, but it died years ago.

  • “I was told that professor was not okay, Dr. was not okay for me because I didn’t have a Ph.D., but there are lots of people at FLVS who do use Dr., which, coincidentally, is also in violation of the same law I got disciplined for,” Vary said. They were told the other acceptable courtesy titles were Mrs., Ms., or Miss. Using "teacher" was also out of the question.“

“We’re going to refuse every attempt at compromise, and force you to choose between abandoning your principles or your career. Why? Because we’re bastards. Fuck you.”

Serious question, though: how does one pronounce Mx.?

  • To share the emotional experiences, and then talk about the story afterwards.

Or you can talk during the film and have this conversation later:
“What was that dude so angry about?”
“I don’t know. We were talking about the previous scene during that scene.”
“That movie sucked. It was confusing and I just couldn’t get into it.”
