  • Every single Democratic response should have been "Thoughts and prayers! Now watch this drive..." takes golf swing

Anything more is overblown and unwarranted. None of them are responsible for this. The right is responsible for the violence and they don't give a shit unless it's happening to them.

  • I honestly think this is overblown.

Republicans have destroyed decorum as well as the truth and patriotism.

When Obama killed Bin Laden they shat on him.

When Pelosi was attacked they shat on her.

When children were killed in any of the mass shootings, they shat on them.

When the pandemic happened they shat on doctors and first responders.

So this sense of "coming together after an event" isn't a thing anymore. Republicans killed it. No-one that didn't love Trump before is going to be moved by this shit.

  • I swear to God democratic PR personnelle is all Republican sleeper agents. They are so inept it's maddening. Women lost their reproductive rights, Trump tried to overthrow our government. Biden should be just repeating these points over and over again.

Just like Republicans do when they find themselves an issue.

Stop trying to explain stuff to Americans, they are too stupid. Just hammer easy to understand points that are wrapped in emotion.

  • Trump's rhetoric almost lead to Pelosi getting killed. Trump's rhetoric got people killed on Jan 6th. Republicans have been posting images with crosshairs of their opponents for years, and now they are surprised that shit is turning violent...

  • Not vengeance but justice. 2 years in prison then off you go is not justice. Now two years and 15 years paying support to the family you have wronged can be justice.

But just two years till you're good is not how it's supposed to work. There needs to be consequences otherwise there is no difference between somone going into rehab voluntarily for two years and somone killing two people and then being forced to go to rehab.

  • I'm genuinely curios. As somone who basically just watches 1080p can you really tell a difference? I feel like my tv and eyes are just limited.

Even when I'm at Costco looking at the 10k ultra super duper HD footage... It just looks good. I wouid be hard pressed to really tell a difference from home when there's usually filters on movies so they never look super ultra sharp anyway.

  • Absolutely agree. I don't have any urge to stop working. But 40 h / 5 days a week is too much. Life is too fucking short especially given how productivity has skyrocketed yet wages have barely kept up.

Obligatory fuck Ronald Reagan and the Republican party.

  • Yea I've considered that but I'm afraid of opening up anything on my local network to the outside. I'm not sure I'm technical enough to risk accidentally opening something that's a vector for attacks. I'm ok with everything only accessible from 192 I'm not out enough for it to matter too much.

  • I have a pihole.

Every time I go out onto LTE I experience the shittery that the rest of the world lives with every day. It is brutal. I have no idea how people do it.

It's funny, even sync for lemmy I never use it outside because it also has huge shitty ads. But on my network all is nice and clean!

  • Man, I kind of feel for the poster.

A while back I was tinkering with some website and installed some npm packages.

Then I tried to delete the nodes modules folder.... NOTHING worked... Safe mode, permissions change, command line deletion,... I spend like an hour googling and raging, it's my fucking computer I put the fucking file there, let me delete it!!!

I was ready to give up and finally stumbled on the answer on stack overflow. The npm folder that was created (I forget exactly what it was) had the ~ symbol in path name and that basically made the folder invincible.

Luckily the poster also posted the command line to nuke the fucker and I was finally able to delete it.

So yea, I kinda get it. Seeing that stupid you don't have permission to delete this file pop-up is rage inducing.

  • Ah yes, it's not the billionaires, corrupt politicians and massive industry inefficiency that's causing our problems, it's children!!!

I swear to God, reading stupidity from people I expect to be on my side of the political divide hurts especially bad.
