This thread is such a microcosm of today's discourse.

Everyone attributing malice to anyone they don't agree with, everyone looking to dunk on people and up votes / down votes piling on in batches based on trends.

It is possible to not immediately be on board with new terms without being a bigot. Sometimes it's just a misunderstanding or lack of knowledge or sometimes just preference.

I've said it before I will address people as they wish to be addressed. If somone has been called a straight male for all their life and they want to be called that it changes nothing for me. Calling them a bigot is counterproductive and just causes divides for no reason.

I'd argue that anyone arguing politics online for either side probably has more knowledge about politics than 99% of the population, even if they are arguing with bad arguments and have bad information they've got SOMETHING

Somone else said this wasn't a case of this breaks on windows system version XXX with update YYY on a Tuesday at 12:24 pm when clock is set to eastern standard time. It literally breaks on ANY windows machine, instantly, on boot. There is no excuse for this.

True. But nothing to do with this incident. That's the point.

Noone needs to defend Windows. We need to defend the truth. And the truth is that this was not a Windows issue. It's a Crowdstrike issue.

As #2 I'd put "If something bad happened to you, IE student debt, it's your fault so you should be punished. If something bad happens to me, it's bad luck or societies fault, therefore I need help."
