it's software, every update can mess up your system. your only guaranteed good media is the install ISO, after that it's only as good as the packager, even for LTS
this is great, my lug has a script we have to share around for new Linux users to increase this and it will be nice with more distros having this set high by default
I like running mesa git for a few specific games but I have zero desire to install it for my system so I install it to /opt and invoke the right environment variable to use it from there instead
like wine patch notes, often someone reports that an old bug on a very old product seems to have gone away at some point so it gets reported as fixed, even if it's not something that had to be specifically looked at by anybody
tbh I just assume that despite GDPR or CCPA any images I put up are there forever, it's not like the tech is that different in the fediverse from anywhere else. nowhere is going to be scrubbing their storage drive blocks on delete if it even can be deleted
LTS ISO aren't guaranteed to work? isn't that the point, install once and run forever?
