This is why I am always annoyed that England, Wales, and Scotland get to represent separately in international competitions. They're essentially states, and you don't see Texas turning up to the football world cup or something.
In Australia we have parliamentary privilege which means that things said in Parliament can't be used against you. One of our politicians essentially admitted to fraud in Parliament and a political commentator called him out on it, the politician sued the commentator for slander and the commentator wasn't allowed to use parliamentary transcripts to prove the truth defence. Eventually it was settled, but it cost him a lot of money and there were conditions.
We're not going to make it until the sun swallows the earth. If there's anything related to us left at that point then it wouldn't be recognisable to us.
Not everyone lives in the US. While aboriginal people in Australia also tended to stay in the inner city they make up a much smaller proportion of the population, and the divide between city and suburbs was more along socioeconomic lines than racial ones; it just happened that due to racism the Aboriginals were in the lower socioeconomic group.
I can complain about the direction something is going while continuing to use it. FWIW I still use old Reddit in a browser and will probably leave if that stops working.
In the middle of the 20th century there was a huge migration of people out of city centres and into suburbs. Some of my relatives bought up properties back then and made bank when the city expanded. I don't expect inner cities to remain quiet forever, but the way they're used might change.
I use it because there are two communities I still want to see, one is a kebble sub, and the other has torrents which are easier to find than going to a torrent site.
Last year we got a new GM. The first thing she said was "everyone is coming into work 5 days a week". We lost every one of our senior staff in under a year and the rule was never enforced anyway. We're back 2 and 3 office and home again now.
