  • Marcus Aurelius was helpful to me - don't be sad about the things you've lost, be grateful about what you've gained. He was specifically talking about the loss of a child. Some people are angry at God because he took away their child to soon. We should be grateful for even the short amount of time we had with that child. I have been able to apply it to so many other situations as well. Just living in constant gratitude can make your life so much better.

  • FSD/autopilot is not good enough to take your hands off the wheel and not pay attention to the fuck's going on around you.

What? There's a video on Tesla's website right now that says the driver is at the wheel only for legal reasons. There is no other purpose to have a driver.

    I'm stumped!

  • The Israeli lobby, propaganda machine in heavy attack mode against these protests. They're scared. The protestors are making a big difference.

Stopping calling anti-genocide movements anti-semitism, unless you want to say that your religion requires genocide.

  • I think you can agree that we can support a group that is suffering from genocide to fight back and it isn't necessarily antisemitic. Of course, there may be antisemitism from some sectors, but Israel conflates criticism and antisemitism all the time. As a result, at this point, I don't think it is a big concern. Allowing the protestors to fight against a genocidal nation is the more important issue.

  • Good on the faculty.

We can continue to see Israel's playbook here. Any criticism of their despicable actions (was genocide ever mentioned in the article?) gets converted to antisemitism.

I hope the protestors keep it up. Force the media outlets to say the word genocide. Don't let them ignore what's going on with the Palestinians.

  • That is what I was thinking, but also wonder if it was part of their show of power. They telegraphed their intentions fairly clearly. If they intentionally disabled half of the drones after take off, then it might simply be an additional warning. If this attack was shot down, could double the drones also be shot down? Just speculation, but I do have a feeling that there is more to it than just half malfunctioned.

  • And to think, the same guy greenlighting the processes and creating the culture that produced a problem like that, also heads another company that puts software in the hands of people called "full self driving" that controls a piece of equipment that is thousands of pounds and flying down our streets and highways at significant speeds.

What a time to be alive!

  • Hopefully the US will take significant actions against Israel, since escalation isn't in the region's or the world's interest. Punishing Israel would be a great way to show the US's desire for de-escalation. For some reason, I think the US will just keep giving them weapons.
