I understand the situation; Tesla can't make money selling to the general public at scalper rates, and scalpers are somewhat eating into Tesla profits. It's all a scheme to ensure money goes to corporations first. That's why the pharmaceutical industry is so fucked.

Also, anyone know of potential IT roles? I may be out on my ass soon, and will be looking for work. I'm pretty decent at Linux and networking. Probably 'advanced' level but after so many years (almost 2 decades) doing this, I am continually reminded on how much I still don't know. The more you know, the more you don't know.

That's the point, I have no idea of the full impacts, I am not a crack expert. Well, not in these kinds of cracks at least.

Considering how bad modern Chinese construction can be, it wouldn't be surprising if the whole thing just snapped in half.

I like these lite philosophical questions you ask.

I think I tend more towards trying not to be unhappy.. Most of the things I do are driven negatively by a fear of chaos and proactive avoidance of stress, and positively by a desire to achieve and be organised. Happiness doesn't consciously factor in very often.

For most of my life I don't think I have been overly happy, but I've reached some decent depths of depression. Most of the time I'm 'just ok.'

I've been in some pretty dark places, so if I can be just ok, I'm happy with that. Oh hey, there you go. I guess I do try!

Are you using a desktop environment?

On my unix-based system, after boot I'm sitting at 2gb usage, while Windows would be at >6GB, so it's not that far fetched. Until you try to run any applications..
