  • It was quirky, sure, but not the worst controller ever by a huge margin. Probably not even the worst first-party controller.

  • Don't forget the (at the time) most arcade-accurate version of the original Donkey Kong, too. Which they technically shouldn't have done, because DK was in legal dispute.

  • Minor thing - DOS games didn't always necessarily use non-square pixels. Many did, but some (Jazz Jackrabbit springs to mind) did not. It was down to the fact that if you displayed a 320x200 image, the CRT would stretch it out to 4:3, giving you slightly taller pixels.

I read a really good blog post about it years ago, but I can't seem to find it right now.

  • It's not really. Sure, the end result is "things getting worse because of business", but enshittification specifically refers to the practice of hoarding users with a quality product, to then extract maximum profit from them while shedding any semblance of quality.

  • Not to be confused with the Soulsborne edutainment game Nounfall.

  • That was a big reason for me leaving my old job.

  • I just love the feeling of zipping around with the Mach Bike. In MK8, they're not quite as responsive and don't feel as good as the karts do, so it's almost the opposite problem

  • I personally lean towards Wii. The feel of the inline bikes just hasn't been matched. Super Circuit a close second for nostalgia reasons.

  • Doesn't that defeat the point of a valet? Or is the idea that they just park your car and then hand your keys back...?

  • Lode Runner for Apple II. Still remarkably playable. You could also go for The Legend Returns on PlayStation / Saturn.

  • Deus Ex had mirrors, dude. Duke 3D had them, even.

  • Aren't the Templars still kicking about? Or is that just in the conspiracy theories?

  • It's got the word 'Christmas' in it, so it must be a Christmas song!

  • The Sims 2 performs better on Linux than it ever did on Windows.

    Y'know, for what it's worth.
