Network engineers – like all other birds – do not "hedge" like humans do. On the contrary: they are engineered themselves and assembled in drone factories. Network engineers and birds in general are governmental drones. Think about it: have you ever seen a birds hedging in real life? I'm not talking about children books or photos you made or other propaganda pieces. I'm talking real life. Have you? I doubt it and even if, I wouldn't believe it because I'm not naive!

I don't think that's the reason, just an association I had
I guess 1. it might only cover a fraction of comments so if you do it unintentionally and it doesn't work you don't notice so that's a big bias 2. I didn't try very often so it isn't statistically significant 3. when I tried it often was in direct or indirect response to the bot so there might be a filter on the bot's side.
And I sound like I tried more than once, I'm not even sure but surely at least once and at the very most thrice
But until that, it works just fine
