  • you can on the steam deck but I'm not sure about normal desktops. proton does support it tho so probably?

  • yeah its just an arch based linux distro with a custom gamemode, although by default it's read-only so you can only install flatpaks. you can get around that if you need to.

  • Pretty sure you are talking about audio fading, gapless is different. Gapless playback just means audio playback won't stop when a new song plays. Without it, the audio sounds like it briefly pauses between tracks.

  • vlc sucks for music because it doesn't have gapless playback, and not everyone wants to use a streaming service.

  • yeah sony has an app for windows

  • Also buy used, I just got a pair of WH-1000XM3s that still have the original case for $100. The ANC is so much better than any new $100 headphones and the battery life is still great.

  • I remember hearing about it in that nvidia leak a while back, so I was pretty sure they are actually going to port it, just don't know when. Seems likely very soon though if eurogamer is right :)

  • Random Access Memories is such a good album, pretty much every song on there is timeless imo.

  • Ive been trying out nouveau with mesa 24.1, wayland seems better than last time I tried it out on proprietary nvidia drivers. Only issue I've notice is that mouse movement feels weird and performance drops when you move the mouse.

  • I haven't noticed any performance issues (2070 Super/Ryzen 3600). I dont have that many plugins though.

  • I have, I didn't like it that much but its better than deadbeef.

  • I did try running foobar under wine but it just sucked, I have also tried deadbeef but its really lacking features and the GUI sucks. I ended up using musicbee through wine, it was a hassle to setup but now it just works for me and I like it better than foobar.

  • Heroic is currently the best option imo, it at least has cloud saves and updates.

  • Either spiderman game would be pretty fun on deck so I pick the first one, it's not like I got a lack of games though lol. Just about to start playing most of the GTA games.

  • The new steamdeck oled has a peak brightness of 1000nits so I'm pretty sure its real HDR, and in the games I've tried it does look nice.
