  • @yogthos if only the West could sanction them;) It's not like they've never used the economic card before, FFS

  • @yogthos
    This is brilliant!

I've always thought of our current system with it's massive inequality like an engine that is not tuned right.

If a machine is constantly spilling oil and sputtering, it's obviously broken and in need a major repair or rebuild.

How anyone could see money pooling in the hands of a few and leaving the rest dry as a success is unbelievable! It's a clear sign of a broken system.

  • @yogthos That makes sense, while raking in astronomical profits from money made out of thin air!!

  • @yogthos What a few weeks for Canadian politicians ... Nazi's weren't enough, they needed to add Zionists to the list.

  • @Samsy
Wow, you were right very nice. Amazing what a little polish can do.

Another app that transformed with UI updates is gajim, the desktop xmpp client.

  • @Samsy
    I'll need to take a look, I haven't used k9 in ages

  • @deadsuperhero
I agree, I use xmpp all the time, but the clients are really underwhelming... Not sure how it's so complicated to give them a facelift to update them while keeping the existing functionality. This reminds me of the debates about the #blender ui in the past, where gray beards argued that the interface was just fine....aesthetics matter;)
    @poVoq

  • @maegul there should really be a license for that, which allows for free use in a non-commercial manner but triggers a responsibility to contribute back financially, even in a small way, when there is commerce involved.

This could provide a funding model for #FOSS #OpenSource projects that are exploited by the likes of #amazon etc that could and should be supporting them, for the value they bring.

  • @yogthos to make this even more striking, I would be very interested to know how many foreign students are included in the US numbers....specifically how many are actually Chinese Foreign nationals that simply return home with their new-found American education.

Capitalism would be so hilarious if it wasn't just sad. The system sows the seeds of its own demise with such short-sightedness, and unfortunately we as citizens of the west suffer.

  • @yogthos
Those numbers are impressive, 4.6 million STEM graduates vs 330k in the US in one year!? Holy shit! No wonder they are advancing so quickly, they are actually investing in their future, unlike the West.
