What is something that people think is dangerous but in reality is completely harmless?

  • I think part of the nuance may be that people who already have violent tendencies might gravitate towards more violent video games. In that regard it may be an indicator of existing violent urges but the game being the cause of violent behavior in otherwise non-violent tending people seems not to have any hard evidence.

    • 1% rule: 1% of users actively create new content, while the other 99% only lurk.

  • I feel the same coming from Mac. Things seem to just work. I'm not a Linux wiz so minimal headaches while learning to tinker make it perfect for me.

  • I love it. I'm just really hoping the sports communities take off. Following and commenting in game threads had become a big part of how I enjoy watching sports and I really want that again.

  • Very refreshing take on it. The cynicism about whether the protests were 'worth it' because we didn't see massive results felt like it missed all the fun of giving the greedy corporation the collective finger.

  • Wow this is me exactly. Finding Lemmy to be a breath of fresh air, but the main thing I'm fiending for is my Mariners community. Really hoping mariners@fanaticus.social gets some traction. I was a Sync for Android user and the developer is shifting to Lemmy and that is exciting. I still have not caved and downloaded the Reddit app, so that's a win.
