  • Funny you mention that... we (from CA) went to AZ over Christmas to do some trail driving, and on Christmas day, I literally watched no less than 4 people in let's go brandon and 3 percenter stickers on their UTVs aggressively yell "Merry Christmas" at me right after they saw my license plate on my Jeep. I literally stood there and watched them look at the back of my Jeep, get a smirk, then yell it at me. 4 of them.

    I'm not a right winger, but wtf... seriously? You have to be aggressive and confrontational because I'm from a state that Faux News decries as "liberal"?

    I'm pretty sure that's a lot of this issue. They were bullies and assholes in school and always picked on the "weird kid(s)" and now that they're being referred to that way they're freaking out because they're scared they're going to become a target.

    Here's 14 used EVs for under 5k. Yeah, they're not the greatest whizbang self driving blah blah blah, but I put almost 100k miles on a 2011 Leaf and had little issue with it, and my kid is still driving it to this day. It's all you need if you're just running around town doing errands. Rent something for long trips.

  • There is competition here, though. It’s not like it’s a single insurance company monopoly. You can usually get a better deal by shopping around.

    It's kind of funny you mention this. I just sat down and went through every insurance company I could find (over 15 of them) that are still writing policies here in CA because Geico decided to jack my rates over 20% this renewal. Literally every one of them were within $5 every 6 months of the price Geico is charging me for the renewal.

    Tell me again how I'm supposed to "get a better deal by shopping around"?
