It's impossible to target all of them, yes. But that's why BDS creates a targeted list of the worst offenders to concentrate consumer boycott pressure.

I played the beta for 20 minutes and was so disappointed I immediately launched sea of thieves to recover.

It just felt like a cash grab done as cheaply as possible.

Me: Surely they left their brights on accidentally flashes my brights to alert them

Them: turns on actual brights blinding me for the next 30 seconds

I split the duo plan with a friend and do annual and it's $6.30/month for unlimited searches.

There's an awesome tool I use to automate this process called TubeArchivist. Automatically downloads new videos from subscribed channels or playlists. Downloads the metadata, thumbnail, and comments too.

It has a built in viewer that works fine so I haven't tried getting the content into my Plex server, but I've seen people in the discord talking about doing it.

For me it's a fun hobby, plain and simple. Some people like maintaining saltwater tanks, some people like miniature train sets, I like maintaining a smart home and automating repeat tasks.

I don't have any Haier products but as a Chamberlain/MyQ garage door owner I can relate all too well. At least ratgdo is an option for the garage doors, I doubt there's anything nearly as simple for the Haier users.

It can be done right: local only connections (no cloud), segmented vlan for iot devices with strict firewall rules, Internet access blocked for anything that doesn't need it, etc.

Unfortunately that takes a lot of knowledge and effort. The cloud based devices that phone home every few minutes are preconfigured and just work, so most people will just use that and not think about it.

Tbf the people at the end of this line will wait maximum 20 minutes. They can achieve this because instead of doing the typical intercom->window fast food setup they have employees outside walking between cars and putting the order into iPads, then another set walking food to your car.

On another note, those outdoor employees are regularly forced to stay outside in extreme heat and cold without proper protection. If they want to wear a jacket it has to be a Chick-fil-A jacket, which they have to buy from the company. Lots of videos online about people working the drive thru line.

What times your lights are on or off can expose more than you might think over time. It reveals when you're gone for work, your sleep schedule, how many days a year you spend at home vs traveling/elsewhere, when you stay up late, etc.

But it gets worse. If you give Hue your email or install the app then now you can be uniquely id'd across other products. Hue will sell that data to some advertising agency, who also buys data from Google, Facebook, etc. Now your usage data from other systems can be combined with the Hue data and used to more even more accurately track your day and behaviors.

This stuck out to me too. Why are you fixing things on their PR? If their changes broke the tests then they need to make the changes to fix them before merging

I moved away from "Gaming headsets" years ago and I don't think I'll ever go back. Bad audio quality, connection issues, and poor longevity are rampant problems.

I'm an advocate for a desktop mic and a nice set of headphones. I use a blue yeti snoball and a pair of Sony Wh1000-xm3's. I am considering upgrading to some open back Sennheisers though.

The main disadvantage is that you can't walk to the kitchen/bathroom and keep talking in discord but it's well worth it for audio quality and longevity.

Still using the adobe suite version I pirated in 2014. Should probably look for a newer one, it's been almost 10 years
