  • Had a friend buy his second or third Rolex and we were all new grads. I was broke as hell at the time so it surprised me he was buying watches the price of a car right out of uni (and his parents just bought him an apartment so he lived in a different world).

He was telling me how this watch is gonna increase in value so it'd be stupid not to get it.

I never said it and only thought about it, but I was thinking that if you were buying it as an investment, why are you wearing it? Why not keep it at home? It could get stolen or lost or broken. But I guess I have brokey mentality.

  • Yeah you're absolutely right in terms of concept. I mean if you dig into my example, Suicide Squad could have been a good live-action shooter as well. Marvel Rivals is cooking right now.

I think my initial impression was switching a single-player studio over, but I lost that message in my reply. I also think it could be fun to take down mechs together as a team.

Just pulling it out of my ass, I didn't think I see the appetite and if it's not there then we could be left with a lackluster game.

I'm a big Horizon fan. Although I need to try Monster Hunter, my friends love it.

  • I'm not an American, but isn't the problem not just the presidency? Like, even if she becomes president if the supreme court, congress, senate are republican controlled she'd be kneecapped.

  • Oh, I didn't mean this-therefore-that ... I was trying to say that these two games in my experience having enjoyed the single-player, I think would have failed in the multiplayer realm as the desire doesn't seem to be there. I'm certain there are examples in the opposite direction.

The IP "could" make sense as the gameplay goes for a very fetch questy type of mechanic and the land is vast and they could expand the lore.

I was just assuming (out of my ass) that these successful single-player story driven games are "forced" to do multiplayer games for cash grabs.

Albeit Blizzard did it for WarCraft, but I always saw Blizzard differently in this regard as it seemed like they had (very much past tense) the desire to do so.

Once again, all assumptions. I'm wrong, often am.

  • Yes, I'm in my 40s ... I think at the time most people wanted an MMO of that RTS game.

I don't see the parallel between that and the lore of the single player story-driven Horizon Zero Dawn but hey, maybe I'm wrong and a Horizon MMO was gonna do gang-busters.

  • But it worked so well with the multiplayer shooter Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League by Rocksteady Studios! /s

I know it's not an MMO but there's parallels there

I love the Horizon games (didn't play the Lego version though) and it's similar to the Batman games but don't have any interest in an MMO or Live Action Shooter for them.

  • In Chinese, there's "kinda" 3 out of the 4 directions for melons:

    • 东瓜 (dōng guā) - East Melon - Winter Melon
    • 西瓜 (xī guā) - West Melon - Watermelon
    • 南瓜 (nán guā) - South Melon - Pumpkin (although it doesn't necessarily refer to south)

and there is no 北瓜 (běi guā) - North Melon (at least not to my knowledge)

  • I'm playing it, I really enjoy it and I never played Overwatch. I was and am still a Heroes of the Storm player, which is fun and I like.

I think at the end of the day it's just fun. 6v6 and you get to mess with your ults. There's characters that you don't need good aim for and need to be strategic instead. You can also go ham like Wolverine, Iron Fist and Cap. It's just fun to dive in and go for it. There's only three classes: tank, DPs and healer or Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist. You'll pick it up quickly and the help menu is just F1 so you can read about the abilities at any point.

If you prefer a third person game that's more MOBA, there's Deadlock. It has multiple lanes and minions to push. Marvel Rivals is more like ARAM and people using their ults to do insane cheating-like moves.

  • Reminds me of a Louis CK bit about releasing lions back into society and how much more life would be better. You couldn't sit around and eat, you'd have to graze and look out. Okay I'm doing it injustice but I also can't find it on YouTube anywhere for some reason, but it was good bit.
