  • Wait, don't forget the third type: the kind that knows self-hosting is better in almost all ways, and hates HATES not having ownership (or even just access!) to the raw data and dev interface, but is too ground down by their capitalist bullshit work week and other life to keep up with the admin of maintaining their own systems. SIGH.

    I don't use Arch, btw.

  • I love that I get this reference.

I also love that last year he found a company manufacturing strings of white LEDs with colored tips (which is his ideal setup) and said he probably wouldn't need to make any more annual videos about it anymore.

Cue this year's video about it lol

  • Farming subsidies are insane in Iowa but because so much of the farming is owned by giant corporations instead of families, it's just another way we move money from taxpayers to the wealthy.

It pisses me off to no end that rural Iowans go hard Republican. They listen to the pandering to "Iowa Farmers" from the right, despite only larping as farmers since they all sold their farms in the 70s and 80s.

Sorry, Tom the "farmer", but living in a ranch house on .25 acres in a town of 200 people and wearing coveralls from 35 years ago, does not make you the beneficiary of Iowa farm money.

  • I knew this case was a slam dunk* the second I heard about it. Not just because it's ridiculous but because this exact scenario has been through the courts before.

The voters should hold the school board accountable for the tax dollars they wasted and vote them out.*

    ^* ^This ^is ^Texas ^though ^so ^everything's ^made ^up ^and ^the ^points ^don't ^matter.

  • And before the decade-long process of today, even the legal immigrants had it way easier.

Want to be an American? Great*, get on a boat, avoid icebergs, get off the boat at a port of entry, and talk to someone who will misspell your name.

    ^* ^Experiences ^may ^vary ^based ^on ^the ^foreign ^scapegoat ^at ^the ^time.

  • Why does anyone do anything?

I'm not into it but it seems pretty inevitable given its proximity to nerve endings and such. Who cares what people do to their own selves? I imagine most would be using lube and only sizing up after they feel confident with their current diameter.

  • I think there's more that can be said, especially as more information is released.

I know I learned more about the experience of the kids from this story, and how much some of the cops feel failed by their organizations.

I value the kids' perspectives so much because they are the ones whose voices (probably rightly so) have been missing from the story until now. To hear the kids sobbing on the bus after finally getting out...the girl who only wanted to let the adults know that she tried to help her friends. It destroys me to hear she, and others, had to be the ones to give love and care to those around them instead of the adults they could hear on the other side of the door.
