  • I don't care much about my case and the internals but you can pry my flowing; gradient; pink, purple, and blue-lit peripherals, with gold ripples after a key or mouse click, from my dead hands. It's the little things that make me not want to eject out of my chair when dealing with work shit. I feel like a golden bi wizard when I'm at my desk

  • It's due to a large chunk of the people believing religiously indoctrinated to believe a text can be infallible.

If you start from that assumption, it's a whole lot easier to understand why the constitution can be so rabidly defended from change and why the fantasy lore of its authors is rarely questioned.

  • What do you think the goal of elections is? Just to "win"? This very post demonstrates military force against our own citizens--are you ok with that? I think it's something we should all be opposing.

We're all losing when we lose fundamentals of our democracy and our right to protest.

  • Not directing this to you, specifically, but if you're in the US and you feel similarly, please please please use this anger at this "slow" part of the political cycle to get involved in your local political scene.

This can look like uplifting people who align with your values in political organizations, volunteering in a specific candidate's campaign to get them on the primary ballot, or even running for a local office yourself (yes you, even if you don't think you're qualified).

The people doing this "unsexy" work between elections are the people who eke out actual change. They always need more support during this time, and by becoming involved, you can see the impacts of your efforts, and get the right kind of people on primary ballots.

When these people win local and state offices, they build momentum (read: fundraising) and gain political experience they can leverage to run for even higher offices.

It's still a lot of work, and it's slow, but it's the realistic, proven path to affecting politics when you're not a nepobaby, a constitutional law professor, or a D-list celebrity.

All that being said, I very much support other activism for fighting the creeping threat of total fascism in the meantime as well.

  • My favorite so far is the people who follow these fuckers around with megaphones and broadcast the rights people have when dealing with ICE, numbers of local lawyers and advocates, and other instructions to help people either avoid the interaction or at least have a fighting chance to due process if they are detained.

  • Are you sure it's not a group of protestors? Because then covering your face is illegal in some places now. Better call the cops to get those protestors back to the free speech zone.

BUT THIS IS STILL A TOTALLY NORMAL AND FINE DEMOCRACY, RIGHT CONSERVATIVES?

  • Those scrambled eggs are separated into small clumps. I bet they're too dry, have overcooked bits, and weren't mixed well.

Someone needs to go back to scrambled egg school.

And now I feel like an egg snob.
