You are conflating Internet service speed and mobile generations. I work for an ISP. I hear this all the time. Especially since there's also "5G WiFi" which is 5 GHz band. People confuse it all, and it's understandable but still annoying.
My company offers 1 Gbps service. No one is getting confused by that yet, but our modems have 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports now, and I had a customer that was outraged the other day because "Your modem is only 2.5 G and all my devices use 5G! You need to send me a 5G modem!!" FFS
I like 8TB drives for media. I know the rules of safe backup say you should have 3 copies, but I just have another 8TB drive for each one that's in use and I do a sync every few months. The backup drives, when not hooked up to sync for backup, sit safely in anti static bags inside the boxes they came in, in a file cabinet drawer.
Battle pass means you play the game to earn rewards on a track of levels. There are two tracks, free and premium. Everyone gets the free. If you want the premium track as well, you must purchase the premium battle pass, which in D4 I think is $25.
I have a friend that drops hundreds on Apex Legends every time there is a "Collection Event" which means "Obtain all 20 of these items and get a special item that you can't get again very easily."
The season is a battle pass. The paid tier is all cosmetic, but the prices on the shop are so ridiculous. This game should have been free to play. But Blizzard is so greedy now, even with WoW Classic fueling their traditional subscription cash cow more than it has been for a while. It's sad to see the decline of this once-awesome company.
I bought D4 recently when it went on sale, and it is pretty fun, but I would not recommend paying full price.
