Ironically, I find McDonald's has one of the better reward systems in their app. I also enjoy being able to punch in my order on a screen with any modifications I want such as extra pickle, no lettuce, etc.. instead of relying on the shitty speaker to pick it up only to hear a guy be like "Did you say cherry coke?" "No, diet coke" ugh

I learned a ton of Japanese from anime. I also took two semesters in college, but anime was a huge portion. I signed on as a translation cleanup guy for a fansub group back in the day. We had a guy in Japan who could write broken English for the dialogue in anime episodes, and then I was the guy who was excellent with English but only had a basic grasp of Japanese (grade school level). Between us, we could get a script.

I learned more from cleaning up his scripts than I EVER did in two semesters of college.

Nowadays, I am not sure what the word for it is, but I can understand spoken Japanese at a high level but I cannot speak back very fluently. My spoken word is full of pauses as I try to think of the right word. But if you speak to me in Japanese, I understand very well.

So... is the meme accurate? I guess partially. It's not like I would ever call myself fluent. I can just watch anime without subtitles now.

Haha I honestly forgot sometimes that the streaming platform is just MAX now. I work for a cable company and deal with customers who have HBO in their cable packages. It's such a habit to call it HBO still heh... and Lat Week Tonight does still technically air on HBO on TV. It's just the streaming episode goes up within 30 mins of the airing generally.

I pay monthly for access to a SOCKS5 proxy service from a company called BTGuard, and tell my BT client to connect through that. It is not expensive and works great I've been using it for about 12 or 13 years, and found it after getting an email from my ISP saying they identified me downloading TV shows. In that time, I have only had issues a handful of times. More reliable than most other services I pay for and I've never seen another DMCA notice since.

I bought FFXVI on launch day and decided to go the story difficulty. Best decision ever, and such an interesting way to do it. You basically get these special rings that make aspects of the game easier, like dodging and attack timing. You can always unequip them if you want to try the game with harder mechanics. The rings also take accessory slots, which you only have 3 of, so you have have to consider things like "Do I want this agility boost? Or my time-stop dodges?" Interesting to trade out game nerfs for stats or other effects.

But yeah. Story modes are great. I played Horizon on easy. Had a blast and didn't get frustrated.

Does Alt+F4 not work well enough?

Dragon Quest XI also! I love this feature. Final Fantasy XII-2 also did it in a nice cinematic way, like you're watching a show, with snippets of cutscenes after a voice says "Final Fantasy XIII-2, the story so far..."

Pasting my comment from elsewhere in these comments here: The first time I run a game, before anything else, before a developer logo, a splash screen, ANYTHING: I want a screen with volume sliders. This setting needs to be saved upon completion and then ask if you want to see this screen on every launch, or just this one.

I know I am not alone. I am tired of having my eardrums blasted to hell every time I launch a newly installed game. Some games even go back to eardrum-destruction every launch until it loads the user settings.

This shit needs to be standardized. A lot of us wear headphones and are on voice chat or listening to music or whatever when we launch a game, and the deafening EA logo or whatever it may be is NOT welcome.

You cannot lower the stress of my younger cat. It is absolutely impossible. Something is wrong with him, he is scared of literally everyone other than two people. I'm not even one of the people despite living with him for 13 years now. He, at best, tolerates me being in the same room, but if I approach him, he will bolt. Something in his brain just has him in fight mode all the time.

This certification sounds pretty sus to me. Knowing how to handle animals is something a vet learns in veterinary school.
