Holy fuck they sold shirts? I didn't really give a shit about formats other than mp3 before I joined that place. I was a FLAC whore by the time I got off the high seas, and it was because of that place.

I get how those topics can make you feel a little squirrelly, but the overall message is tolerance and compassion. Is it really that terrible to instill those values in kids? When I was in elementary school there were definitely kids who were bullied for being perceived as gay even though none of us really understood what that meant aside from "that's a boy who likes other boys". I really wish I could go back and smack some sense into my younger self, but also smack some sense into the adults at the time for letting us act like miniature assholes.

I spent one night cleaning commercial airliner cabins at a regional airport.

Since I was would have basically unrestricted access to commercial airliners post 9/11, I had to go through serious screening to get this job. Fingerprinting, MASSIVELY invasive federal background checks, the whole 9 yards. You'd think I was going to work at the Pentagon. But that's a good thing. If someone has momentarily unfettered access to an entire jet that will be carrying a ton of jet fuel and hundreds of passengers, I absolutely want to make sure people are thoroughly vetted. It was made ABUNDANTLY clear to me, the potential consequences of fucking up this job. If I were liable for a fuck up I would be at the very least fined thousands of dollars, at worst I'd be thrown into federal prison.

So my first day passes and I get called into my supervisors office. Apparently I missed a non-sanctioned magazine a previous passenger had left in a seat back of a flight. I wasn't being fired or fined, but I was on final warning. Over a magazine. I quit on the spot.

I also forgot to mention that this job payed barely above minimum wage...

I wasn't going to bust my ass cleaning airplane cabins, risking my livelihood and freedom for a fucking pittance.

How do you quantify "qualified"? And why were you allowed to completely rewrite your job description to one you were "more qualified" for?

There are actually tons of laws that limit or revoke those rights. Nevermind the fact that the constitution was LITERALLY made to be changed and amended when appropriate.

Actually, the best way to stop mass shootings is to not have guns every fucking where. More guns = more potential tools for mass murder.

No one is blaming guns for "everything", but holy christ you can't acknowledge that there's a massive mental health issue in America without maybe thinking that it shouldn't be so fucking easy for those mentally unstable people to get guns.

The answer isn't easy, but it surely isn't more guns.

Yeah, it's a definite departure in tone. But stick with it. It becomes a more serious rendition of the franchise, but it's just as engaging.

It not only keeps the overall spirit of the franchise going, it revitalizes it because of the set and setting. Where SG1 and Atlantis have humanity becoming virtually indestructible gods through their new technology, EVERYONE in SGU is vulnerable.

It's really unfortunate because the show was canceled right when it was finding it's feet.
