  • Outside of improved updates. It was the same for the S24 series smartphones.

  • You could try to turn off battery optimization for sherpa TTS. Maybe, that could fix the delayed start issue. But, android should've automatically started and kept it in memory for you.

  • Try SayIt. Maybe, that can work for you?

  • If you want something that's simple, fire and forget. You can try PersonalDNSFilter.

  • This is a critical update. There's risk the battery may explode. I would suggest either get a new phone or get it officially replaced by google. Mitigating the software limitations can be dangerous.

  • This will mean Sync will be even more broken if not staight up non-function than before. I guess time to stop using Sync.

There's Jerboa, Voyager, Boost and other clients for conerned people.

  • Developers need to make money. If app development is not sustainable they will stop developing apps.

Accubattery atleast offers onetime payment option.

  • Interesting, yeah I had read about the Kiwi Search redirect and sending your keystrokes years ago. I thought there was a new one.

    Anyway, thanks for the info.

  • Where? Can you share that issue?

  • Yeah, the cost of USB 3.0 is not significant. But, OEMs skip it like wireless charging making it a premium feature.

  • Personally, I want them segregated. I answer help posts when I have the power to do so. But, I skip when I don't want to. Seeing them when I don't want to would be an energy drain.

Someone mentioned they can be filtered. But, I do not see tags or an easy way to do so. I use Sync for Lemmy and Voyager.

  • Phone news and discussions about android and its ecosystem are the only reason I'm here.

Rumours are also a part of that. But, unless you can quantify true and false rumours. They are a part of news. But, I get what you are saying. You can share news, reviews, new features, etc and upvote those when someone posts them in this community.

  • Amaze utilities is more comparable. It has many utilities which can replace Google Files.

  • That's a dumb reason. Why don't we go for usb 1.1 so proles understand their place better?

USB 1.1 is not made anymore. USB 2.0 has always been the minimum standard. USB 3.1 is considered a premium feature. The last time I had to transfer data was a year ago when I was setting new phone. Even then it could've been done wirelessly. Its not a necessary feature like a good camera, battery so its always ignored.

Same with wireless charging. Although some manufacturers(Motorola) may include it in their midrange phones.

I know that usb type-c is a connector.

Sorry, I was surprised you asked this question. Manufacturers have been omitting USB 3.0 from midrange and sometimes even flagship smartphones since ages ago. This has always been the case. Surprised you didn't notice this sooner.

  • usb 2

    But why?

Because its a midrange smartphone. If you need USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 you need to buy a flagship smartphone.

Note: USB version 2 and 3 correspond to data transfer speeds. The USB is still type C if that was the reason for confusion.

  • Ok, thanks for the info. HMD should add this info to its product page.

  • It does not according to GSMArena

Edit: The video shared by OP and other reviews mention it. The official product page does not. ¯(ツ)
