Get in the habit of getting into habits. My high school chemistry teacher turned me onto this. Make a point of doing something every day for a while and soon it will become hard NOT to do it.
Our dog taught himself how to roll a ball with pretty good accuracy. Coming home from our morning walks we’d play a game where he’d push the ball so it would roll down our driveway. I’d return it. With much concentration and practice he got good at getting it to roll all the way down - even sometimes doing bank shots.
I think the reason this story is getting attention, and derision, is that Vance is part of a political group that is shaming others for things they themselves have done. They are rightfully being shamed for their hypocrisy.
The first time camping with my girlfriend. We drove 25 miles down a dirt road to get to the campsite but found it was full. (We hadn't realized that it was opening day of hunting season.) So we drove 25 miles back and started looking for a hotel. No luck after multiple tries. It was getting dark and we were tired.
The surprise? We still got along just great! Even with the setbacks we took it easy on each other and still found humor. Eventually we found a hotel room, then the next day a beautiful campsite.
