They should do something about "consent platforms" using various DNS tricks and thousands of domain names to bypass/evade user blocks.

I wasn't so bothered about some non-invasive ads a few years ago, but I absolutely despise any kind of ad now TBH, and it's mainly down to how persistent some of these platforms are with their evasion tactics

Also pretty ironic for their popups to talk about "respecting" my privacy when these platforms literally do the opposite of that to show their popup in the first place. I will not support any of them, in any way, on my network.

As soon as I see a new one appear when browsing, I chuck it into dnsdumpster so it can get recorded with the rest of them, and then block the new list from dnsdumpster (grid icon) on my network.

Probably is exactly what happened here. The FreeCAD wiki went down on the 1st too, thankfully they have it mirrored to a GitHub repo so that ended up not being a major issue

A lot of youtubers I follow have tried it and left because of the unmoderated comments. That should be a big pro point in an ideal world, but the kinds of people that gather in those sorts of places tend to be quite freeze peachy IMO, and there are barely any constructive comments most of the time.

Some other channels set it up to mirror their YT, and have pretty much abandoned it otherwise.

Platforms like Odysee will probably hit a critical mass of non-freezepeachy users when YouTube really messes up IMO, in the same way Lemmy existed for years and had its own culture, before the migration brought over a critical mass of users with a completely different culture.

Youtube will have to really mess up hard though, probably in a way that cuts off third party apps the same way Reddit did. If you ask anyone in my house to open YouTube... it'll be piped, freetube, newpipe SB or grayjay, not the official site or app. My partner is a very heavy user of Freetube in particular because its so clean.

IMO it is either a personal hygene issue, or the wrong type of bra is being worn.

If you are constantly sweating under your boobs doing literally nothing, your cup isn't fitting you right IMO and you need to get a professional bra fit - there are a lot more to breasts than just their ”size” when choosing a bra. Your breasts should be getting sufficient airflow, with the bra supporting them in a way where the overhang is not pushed up against the skin

Unfortunately not everyone can afford a professional bra fit, and in some cases your only option may be a specialist quite a distance away, increasing the cost due to travel.

A lot of EVs have this built in, some even include V2H so they can backfeed inverted AC to your home via the charger, but it isn't mentioned anywhere on most product pages (f150 lightning being the worst instance of this; it has a 10kW V2H inverter and there is no mention of that anywhere on its page!)

In the other discussion thread one user noted they even had issues locating a V2H charger at all to purchase, so I guess the manufacturers don't want to explicitly set up their users for disappointment...

If you've typed on a Blackberry device at all before, it'll make sense. I agree the form factor is garbage though.

A landscape one wouldn't feel that great though IMO, I tried a few mobile landscape keyboards a decade ago and they almost always felt "off" in some way, whether its the key travel, texture, mushiness or key spacing. I'm new to 3D printing myself, mainly got into it to make my ideas become reality - at the moment I don't want to get too caught up in the weeds modding and customizing my printer, I just want it to work, not turn it into a project

Extremely happy that I went for a decent used printer though (Delta style Flsun), instead of buying a new cheap one and being disappointed. My next printer will probably be a compact CoreXY, Voron 0.2 is what I have my eyes on but those kits carry a price tag and take days to assemble 😳

If I was buying a printer for my partner or friends though, 100% Prusa. The extra is worth it IMO for the highly refined UX, preconfigured slicer+filament combos, actual support, and most importantly their ongoing contributions to open source.

Very easy to run your previously purchased steam games without Steam. Search "Steam emulator", follow the GitHub or Codeberg link, and problem solved...

Won't help with games that use their own custom DRM though.

A privacy focused client that offers personalized recommendations is a bit of a juxtaposition IMO, and is definitely impossible now that YouTube removed homepage personalization for logged out accounts.

If you are fine with YouTube without ads, then you could log in with the likes of Revanced or Grayjay, and get a feed with personalized recommendations. This isn't private though. Grayjay does however have a feature to anonymize your watch activity, and to perform certain actions in an anonymous YouTube session.

I'd even maybe be fine with something that takes all the watch next recommendations of the videos in the subscriptions page and jumbles them together as "recommendations"

NewPipe (and Freetube the last time I checked) already does this, but they use a built-in subscription system that does not require any kind of account

Piped (and LibreTube) uses its own account system which allows you to sync its built-in subscriptions & playlists between mobile and desktop, but I have not looked at whether they offer a feed with the synced subscriptions.

Personally if I'm specifically after watch recommendations, I just look at the related video suggestions on something that I like

I've noticed a few linux file managers are quite cautious loading multimedia thumbnails for networked filesystems mounted with GVFS, not sure of a fix for that aside from looking for a command line utility to mount using FUSE instead

It's probably marketing for V2L specifically I think.

It allows EVs to backfeed power through the charger cable into your home's circuit breaker via a safety switchover, (if specced during charger installation - I doubt that feature was used here though) and doesn't necessarily require the vehicle to be powered up. I.e. the car just behaves like a battery and a 2-4kW inverter for your home AFAIK.

You could probably do the same thing manually with an ICE, maybe would want to run the engine at least though, as the built in starter batteries won't last too long and don't like deep cycling. A death cable would technically work, but you'd really want a switchover box in a proper installation to not kill line operators repairing a power fault, and to retain proper GFCI operation

A lot of the more expensive EVs have this built in, although they don't really publicly mention it for some reason. Ford's F150 lightning is a really blatant example of this, it supposedly carries a much beefier inverter than average, but they've hidden the info behind a tiny link at the bottom of the webpage. It's not even shown in the specifications grid.

I run Plex too, and indeed library sharing is built right in and ridiculously easy to set up.

It requires hardware support, and isn't a feature you can implement or initiate within an android app.

If you can reach the maintainer for that TV box's lineage ROM, they may be able to have a look at it
