  • This is essentially hiding the automatic denial of everything inside a black box, right? Everyone sees that? I think I'd rather they just randomly cancel 20% of the covered people. Why reduce the financial coverage in a way that will produce worse medical outcomes due to delayed treatment?

These are the same folks who want to claim some moral high ground in all their politics. They are grotesque.

  • Yeah, my first thought was this isn't news. This is literally reporting that someone is doing their job.

It sucks that the goal in capitalism is just more money. Unions are how labor gets stuff in capitalism. Even if they aren't perfect, dont hate the player, hate the game.

  • I suppose what I mean is that he doesn't just have a big red button on his desk labeled Iran that he can press when he chooses.

We've stood up a system over many years, and he's just barrelled through every norm/law/etc. up to and including having his sentence reduced to 0 on felonies, simply because he's a politician. If we cannot protect ourselves from this man launching a nuclear weapon, or even hold him responsible, then we don't deserve to survive beyond our planet and the resulting catastrophic collapse of society may be the best thing for the universe overall.

  • Yeah, I know, man. I keep hearing people talking about this guy that loves tacos getting mad because there were no tacos at a parade... or something like that? Or the people in the parade ate their tacos wrong? I don't know. None of this stuff makes sense to me either.

  • I would have to think using nukes on a country that doesn't have nuclear power would be a slam dunk illegal order. Like, I mean, if he says to do it, the guys that make that happen, top to bottom, should say, "No, this is an illegal order, and i am not going to follow it."

If such an order is followed and nothing is forthcoming from some checking force in the federal government, I think i may have lost faith in humanity as a concept. This is the great filter. Can we be trusted as a species?

  • Thank you for stating it so plainly. Taking any action you can now is super important.

They're trying to incrementally increase the outright fascist behavior slowly. No one day or action is much of a change from the previous action. It makes it easier for the average American to just go about their life. There's never a "president tears up constitution" moment in the news, just another slightly shitter small thing. They wrote the playbook out in project 2025 so that they can keep ramping it up every day with a prescheduled list of steps to take and no time is wasted.

They have 4 years to try and prevent the next election, and they have a road map.

  • He was obstructing law enforcement by advocating foe the defendant in court. That's what he's accused of. Defending a criminal defendant. For helping the defendant get due process. That's obstruction to a fascist and only a fascist. If they arrest you, that is a declaration of your guilt I their eyes.

  • He'll buy a company that does work in a related field. Or perhaps neural link will suddenly become more active in other organs, and he'll dump money into that.

The neural link idea is that he'll eventually not need a body anyway. It's a transhumanism thing. Have fun with that rabbit hole.

  • I think where we may differ in opinion is where the power lies in this situation. To me, it's all about having the money for the compute, which means its propaganda for the wealthy. That's nothing new. I do not expect a significant increase in societal support for these types of messages. At least not on a historical scale.

You seem to imply the LLM can at the very least have an emergent agenda, or seeming agenda, of its own. I do not believe that to be the case. LLMs that generate output that doesn't align with the monied interests will be considered misaligned and discarded.

  • You're missing my point. An LLM can't be "smarter" or "smart" at all. It isn't sentient or conscious. It doesn't even have a stable internal model of the world. What people call "hallucinations" are simply the random words selected at the edges of its convincing predictive power. Personification of LLMs is all marketing. They're really just well presented statistical models.

  • It really is part of the playbook. It plays into the false centrism they're trying to hide behind. "We worked hard and compromised." Compromise to these fucks has been just giving into their temper tantrums since presidential reconstruction. They have to spin it in the public eye though. They always have to be the persecuted group in their narrative for this to even come close to making sense.
