  • Why yes, I do think everyone has given up. So can you please DO SOMETHING. If Congress can't do anything, who can? SCOTUS can't do anything until someone brings a case before it. Can you please do that? If AOC and/or Bernie won't do it I don't know who will.

  • Democrats "raised alarms"? Gee thanks, that'll take care of it you pathetic wimps. Why haven't they brought an immediate case to the Supreme Court for an emergency ruling? A non-elected, non-nominated or confirmed by Senate (and we should of course note) immigrant has been given access to the United States Treasury. This is insane.

  • According to this (see first 2 minutes), they are specifically trying to target red states in hopes of getting republicans to try and intervene with trump.

  • Pretty brave for someone who flies so much.

  • When he did it to Twitter, I laughed. I didn't ... I didn't know...

  • Remember when all the pundits were saying that the Musk DOGE thing was just showmanship, nothing to worry about, because "it would only be an advisory committee with no real power to do anything."?

  • He's a lot like trump. When you have that much money, it's basically infinite, you get anything you want, anything. So you just do stuff, whatever pops into your head, because there are no consequences. When there are no consequences, nothing matters. You're the main character, everything revolves around you. What does that do to a person's mind? We see the answer before us in Musk and Trump.

It must get so boring, when you're surrounded by people who are nothing more than background characters in your movie, servants at your beck and call, sycophants flattering you. So you have to do outrageous things to get people to react. Do a nazi salute. Threaten to invade Greenland or Panama. Get them to say something against you, so you can punish them, to feel your power. Sue them, destroy them, squash them like a bug because you need to prove to yourself over and over that you're not the pathetic loser your father always said you were.

  • I read it. It's a politically slanted article trying to link a TB outbreak with anti-vaxxers and magats, implying it happened because people refused to get vaccinated against TB, implying that the TB vaccine is even recommended or routinely given in the US, WHICH IT ISN'T, which I explained in my post with links to reliable sources backing up my statements.

You apparently didn't read either the article or my post, or maybe just didn't understand them. If you think I said something incorrect, state what it was and back up your statement.

  • There is something like that on most Mastodon pages where if you are viewing it just in your browser rather than from within your mastodon account, you can click Follow and it will ask for the server name you want to follow it from, so you have to enter your server name, then it will auto-open it in your Mastodon account for you.

I don't know that there's much more anyone could do than that, since any given server you are viewing has no idea what various fedi accounts you may have. That's kind of what "decentralized" means--there's no central database keeping track of all your accounts.

  • Oh, to browse all the posts rather than just one account's, go to https://pixelfed.social/web/explore which should show pretty much everything. (that's the main server with the most users by far, and any other PF servers are federated with it so most of theirs should show up there as well)

  • Yes, you can follow a pixelfed account from your mastodon account and see their posts in your feed. Paste the url of their page into your mastodon search to bring up their profile, then you can view their posts and/or follow them.

  • Sorry to put a damper on your Schadenfreude, but this has nothing to do with any maga anti-vaccine laws. Although this outbreak is in Kansas, the TB vaccine is not used in the US, not even in blue states, except in rare special cases.

In the United States, BCG is only considered for people who meet specific criteria and in consultation with a TB expert.

    See https://www.cdc.gov/tb/webcourses/TB101/page7181.html and https://www.cdc.gov/tb/hcp/vaccines/index.html

(it's so irritating how people just lap this crap up without an ounce of critical thinking)

  • Just like the Constitution!

  • The video on that page is pretty interesting.

  • Thanks for clarifying. I'm not sure they care too much about its effect on the economy, but terrorizing them, even the legally working, is definitely intentional and part of their strategy. They've openly talked about wanting to intimidate people into "self-deporting".
