  • Oh, I don't know if it's confirmed - I just thought all upgrades would be included, the same as the two Zelda games. If that's not the case for all Switch 2 edition games, then maybe it's only available via buying the upgrade for Kirby. Maybe I was too hopeful!

  • Kirby's actually quite a fun game, and this is more interesting to me than resolution/framerate upgrades in BotW & TotK - it's basically a DLC addition, although it's not clear how big the extra content is. It seems the upgrades are included in the NSO Expansion Pass subscription or as a paid extra (if you own the Switch 1 game).

    Edit: maybe not re NSO

  • I'm not sure if we're agreeing or not. I was only talking about physical, and Amazon, Argos, etc. always sell for cheaper than Nintendo's webstore. I sure hope physical games aren't being phased out, but maybe this price difference between digital and physical is just reflecting that digital distribution is cheaper for Nintendo than producing physical carts.

  • I only have one Switch - was there no way to get a digital purchase from one Switch in your household onto another already? It would be neat if you could share a game with your friend instead just a family member, but that's probably too much to ask.

  • I feel like Metroid will feature in the Switch 2 direct, and there was a Pokemon direct very recently, so it's either going to be something we don't expect or a bit underwhelming. I'm thinking some thrid-party titles.

  • Yeah, Switch is region free, thank god - I've got Japanese, Korean, and European game cards and would probably have had to buy a new Switch to be able to play everything I own. Or maybe I would have only used the eshop to buy games if that cricumvented it.

  • My own 3DS is actually Japanese but I modded it to region unlock it.

Huh, that's unusual. Region locking was a really annoying thing, and I'm glad Nintendo have moved on from it. We had the Japanese 3DS only for FE fates, but also a PAL 3DS that we left behind somewhere when moving house :(

  • Are you playing Fates on an actual 3DS or emulator? I played Awakening and Engage, but missed out the in-between entries. I do actually have a copy of Fates in the house, but it's in Japanese, so I can't play it (my wife is a huge FE fan).

I actually played Engage this weekend - but I'm on the last chapter (I think) and hadn't played it for months, so I'd forgotten what I was doing and had to use the time crystal every turn. It was just really frustrating and felt stupid to "cheat" my way through it, so I gave up.

  • 100%-ing TotK does sound like it will take forever - it means like visiting all reas on the map, getting all korok seeds, photographing everything, right? Did you 100% BotW as well? I felt like I did quite a lot of optional stuff in BotW, but still wasn't anywhere close to 100%
