when I was around 3 years old, my mom gave me a strange hot pink plastic toy hair dryer that ran on 1 AA battery. It had a drawing of a strange medusa-like girl on it. I'm a dude. I have no idea, how or why did she got that for me as a present, but i fucking loved it. so much so it's tiny momentary switch that turned it on completely broke my thumb. it made me really happy. (probably because my parents worked a lot so I was put into a nursery, and seeing my mom coming there for grabbing me at the end of the day always made me happy. so I maybe connected the toy hair dryer with this)
around 12 years old (it was around 2008-2009), a family friend gave me a Psion Series 3A palmtop computer (a retro handheld 16bit computer from the mid-to-end 90's) with few SSD cartridges (storage). previously it was used by the police force and on those cartridges I've found several police work related softwares written for the device. It was a special gift, I loved that machine. I learned a lot about programming on it with its strange programming language called OPL. Had a complete manual for it in my native language. It had not the best keys, but typed countless of lines of code on it.
I had a cable like this, it was for an ancient Medion digital camera. No idea why they went with the full size USB female socket on the device, but it was just a simple USB cable that had male plugs on each end. Maybe it was cheaper, maybe it had debug purposes... we will never know.
I also tried to connect two PCs with it, it was my very first thought when I saw that cable. Obviously, it didn't work, nothing happened. Remember Total Commander had a "Connect two computers with USB" feature, was thinking maybe that will work with it, but nope... for that, a specialized USB cable/device was needed, not the one I had for the camera.
Same. With Windows 10, everyone was like there are ads and shit in the Start menu and browser nagging and all that jazz - never ever seen any of them. After fresh install, I do my settings, let it sit for a while to do the Windows Update, delete (uninstall) all the unneccessary tiles from Start and that's it, literally.
If there's little to no need to go through the settings, you probably will miss a lot of them and never know.
Also, I think after a fresh install going through some settings to check out what you have, what you don't have and what you can have is not something only power users should do, but that's a power user's opinion π
I mean, I'm not saying that part was a mistake or anything like that, it's just when I first saw this whole "how do you turn this on" cobra car cheatcode like thing... only that scene was made me question for once that am I really watching Star Trek? it just felt off.
but granted, DS9 is a very different Star Trek. it's an amazing one. that's for sure.
and also granted I'm "just" at the 4th season of Voyager, not too much ago finished DS9.
DS9. The Dominion is about to come through the wormhole with hundreds or thousands of ships and the prophets are like "omg Sisco you can't have a fucking war here, man, we need you later on" and Sisco was "fuck you, I do whatever I want, do your magic, I don't care, it's man's business" so Sisco wont retreat.
and then what happened?
The whole fucking Dominion fleet just disappeared, poof! like Sisco used some kind of cheat code.
fuck that.
anyway, it's not the scene itself that was bad, but man. that was so freaking cheap I think the whole show changed in me a little bit after that. still amazing series, tho
on winters, I don't go above 20Β°C. on summers, I completely turn off the heater and even cut the gas, have all the two windows fully open for the rest of the season. I have an AC system installed, tho it's really old and consumes too much power for my likings. In my country they fucking rob people with electricity/gas bills, it's the fetish of our president. Also the AC unit is in a wrong place and haven't even cleaned it in years, so... it's just decoration at this point.
my luck is that I have neighbors on two sides and under me (I'm at first floor) so I don't really need to crank up the heater, because I'm already surrounded by heated homes. since my home is small, heating with gas is extra cheap for me.
I don't have an answer for the original question, but what about just saying rotate right/left?
I mean, if I imagine a circle rolling on a flat surface, rotating right means the rotation that rolls the circle right (so clockwise rotation), and rotating left would be the opposite; where the circle rolls left.
also, if you have a Sony Ericsson (db2010, db2020, a200) there's a great chance some russian dude made a VKP patch to unlock the phone on that firmware. this was completely software, and easily restorable
once I unlocked a Samsung. problem was that the code I've found had a side effect zeroing out the IMEI of the device. tho, it worked, but acted strangely sometimes
