  • Because fire doesn't give a fuck about your imaginary lines in the dirt...

So I'm not disagreeing with you about fire not caring about borders. It is worth noting, though, that the border between the US and Canada is not just imaginary. It does have an actual physical demarcation. And that demarcation actually can slow the spread of fire across the border, if only slightly. The trees at the border have been cleared for a 20 foot wide gap, often referred to as "The slash".

  • Low population, low density, lots of farm land, can count the number of houses in a mile stretch of road on your fingers. May have one small commercial area within 15 miles with a dollar general, a gas station and, if you're lucky, a grocery store. Not nearly enough businesses nearby to employ people even the measly number of people there that isn't a farmer, so they commute to neighboring towns or counties to find work in factories, possibly dozens of miles away. I basically just described where my sister lives in Tennessee.

  • FR. My Battle Smith Artificer can suddenly learn the Wizarding arts and summon a spell book mid-dungeon crawl despite most wizards spending their life learning those things. But despite being able to harness the weave into mundane objects, including armor, to enhance them, or create magic items wholecloth, and even create a living construct, I cannot actually create a magic suit of armor and become an armorer artificer, no matter how much I try.

  • Insulation is insulation, it can keep something hot as much as it can keep something cold. And a refrigeration system reversed becomes a heat pump. Would cost next to nothing to make something like this happen from a mechanical standpoint.

  • My Junior year of high school, my English teacher was going over some commonly misused words and got on the subject of "hanged" vs. "hung". She said "When a blanket is clipped to a clothesline to dry, it is hung. When I man is executed by noose, he is hanged. Men are hanged. Men are not hung." My classmate raised his hand and... well, Long story short, my classmate got detention.
