By "socialism" they mean something very different from what marxists mean. This isnt a dig at them or anything, but Venezuela inst really a communist project like China, the USSR or even Chile under Allende.
I don't know about Bolivia, but Venezuela ironically has zero pretensions of being a socialist country; there are no mentions of Marx or Marxism in their constitution. It's just that they pissed off the US really hard by daring to be a sucdem country while operation condor was in full effect and while they wanted to force neoliberalism into latin america. They also reverted the US backed coup almost instantly.
The governmemt is an entity that exists in service of the ruling class, not the other way around. It's the liberals who think that the government is this metaphysical entity that exists outside of class relations and which has or seeks absolute power. In reality it's an institution propped up by the bourgeoisie to further their interests, and the only reason why internal political conflict happens is because different sections of the bourgeoisie want different things
No he didn't, he said the election was stolen and then his followers turned into doomsday cultists, camping outside national congress and military bases (while begging the military to "do something", as in, install Bolsonaro as a dictator), as well as blocking roads. Eventually he fucked off to the US because he didn't want to hand over his post to Lula in person and because he was scared that he was going to be arrested for attempting a coup.
Yes, actually. It was used to force the neoliberal 'experiment' onto the population, same as what happened in Chile and in other Latin American countries. Also, a lot of the supporters of the regime, as well as the upper echelons, were composed of capitalists. It's a textbook example of fascists and the bourgeoisie working together to suppress leftist movements and force unpopular economic policies.
The real reason why no one builds railroads (except for china) is because of automobile industry lobbying. For instance, Brazil used to have a functioning rail system until around the 60s, until a bunch of car factories moved in and started pressuring the government to not only invest more on roads, but to abandon passenger trains altogether as an "incentive" for people to buy cars. It's also the reason why so many right wingers are so against walkable cities, they pretty much just gobble up corporate propaganda and think cars are freedom machines.
response for the onlookers and bite anyway
No, I'm not going to "magically" solve anything. Overpopulation is a malthusian reactionary myth and often two steps away from claiming that the poors have too many babies.
The reason why the environment is being destroyed is because of capitalism. It's simply not profitable for the people in charge to switch for cleaner types of energy or to look for any solutions whatsoever. The fact that you think the solution to this is not communism, but that everyone should die, is telling. Another comrade has put it better than I can:
The United States, for example, is 4% of the World's population but still uses 25% of the world's resources annually. The United States outsources their pollution and their production to the third world, where the labor is cheapest due to imperialism, and then says "the third world is responsible for the climate change because of their carbon emissions! We need to cut down on the number of people!"
They don't just eat dead animals, they also eat dead plant matter. Humans decided that some animals are "pests" because they don't like having them around for one reason or another.
They are extremely important for getting rid of dead things. Everything contributes to the ecosystem, except invasive species, OP's premise is impossible to begin with.
Americans just assume their experience is the universal one. They can't possibly imagine that F might be gibberish to someone who grew with Celsius or that people who grew up with Celsius can intuitive tell how hot something is in Celsius.
We don't have AI. We have language learning programs that are hovering around mediocre.
That's all that AI is. People just watched too many science fiction movies, and fell for the market-y name. It was always about algorithms and statistics, and not about making sentient computers.
Oh, the horror! I guess that justifies ruining his life forever.
