Not sure what to elaborate on, so I will just explain more in depth what I meant.
So, because Sync is a closed-source app, in order to modify it you will need to change the compiled code itself or to add your own code, hoping it doesn't affect the application.
no-ads and less talking to 3rd party version of sync.
what I meant by this was that the modders would change 2 things : Ads and requests sent to 3rd parties (google, amazon, facebook, etc.). I have no clue how apk/android modding works, but I'm assuming all they have to do is remove the sections that add ads and talk to amazon, google, facebook etc with data.
Make sense? If not, let me know what doesn't and I'll try to explain it.
Hey man, I'm not a professional at all, but maybe you should stay off social media for a bit (1-2 weeks) and just enjoy life without worrying about the climate, politics, news, etc. They heavily impacted my mental health, but once I took a good long break, started working out more, went on hikes on occasion, went outside and read in the nature, etc. You can also go and hang out with friends / partner more often (if you do not already live with them)
Social media itself is a constant negative loop (for better or for worse) and you need breaks sometimes. Hope you can get out of this hell hole, my friend.
Not really, it's just becoming way more popular. I've seen (been recommended) 25+ videos all on the steam deck this month alone. There's a shit ton more compatibility with games, custom OSs, etc, which also adds to the numbers. It's literally the Nintendo switch, but 100x better + it can play switch games too.
It's 100% fair of you to be suspicious of these crazy increases, but you have to keep in mind it's literally the only good and affordable option in this type of gaming. Sure, you have Nintendo switch, but it has ass performance on a lot of 1st party games (TOTK 20fps in some areas...). The steam deck is also easily fixable (diy repairs such as a battery replacement) and easy to maintain. The switch, on the other hand, is almost like apple with their "right to repair" stuff, and you cannot upgrade the inner components (like ssd, battery, etc) - only by adding a micro SD card can the storage increase... To each their own.
Lobbying in the tabacco industry is crazy strong, they have so much money that, much alike to the oil industry, they will keep selling their products no matter the risks.
There's also the fact that the government makes money off the sales and imports of tobacco products. The revenue is strong enough to counter the money spent on healthcare, etc.
Really like homepage. Simple to install, easy to modify and "beautify"; though it's barely used in my household since my family only cares about Jellyfish and nothing else...
Stuck between this (anonaddy) and Simplelogin. Both are incredible, just that one's cheaper than the other with a bit less features. Thanks for the input man, appreciate it.
ELI5: These services are middlemen to your own email. Service --> @anonaddy.com email --> my mailbox
Not ELI5: These are way more anonymous than your own domain since multiple people use the domain. It takes a bit of trust to allow a 3rd party to see your emails, and that is why I will not be using them for anything important - not to mention if they disappear, all access to those emails are gone. This is simply to anonymize who knows what, I would personally use a custom domain with my provider for more important matters.
Your method also works, just that it is only you using the domain, allowing people to identify you.
Yeah I knew about it but do not really trust apple with this stuff. Anonymity would definitely be a lot better since millions upon millions use @icloud.com, but I would prefer to not use apple. Thank you though!
Yeah I kind of went crazy with it, but it solved my issues so - it is what it is lol. Josh's youtube channel has a TON of meal prep recipes and snack recipes that I'm sure you'll enjoy. Hope this helps.
I used to have this issue, but I solved it with meditation (sort of). This does sound extreme, but it worked for me - even though I was going to the gym every single weekday, I still felt like shit most of the time because of the junk food eating habit I had on the weekends (like you) and I decided enough was enough. Whenever I felt the urge to eat junkfood, I simply meditated. The first few weekends it was really fucking weird... in my mind I was thinking "I'm hungry, why am the fuck am I meditating...", but after a while my desire to eat junkfood really just plummeted, aswell as an overall increase in energy allowing me to cook something better.
This was honestly really extreme and I do not know how I actually pulled it off without 'relapsing'. It is not necessary, and I only recommend it if it's a serious issue for you, which it was for me (and judging by your explanation, it is not a big issue).
Another method I used is what TMPM calls snack city (youtube video) where it's healthy junkfood. So muffin bites, fries, chicken, etc, all pre-cooked on a single day, then stored in a freezer with easy heatups via a microwave, oven or airfryer, with low-calorie and high-protein focus.
tl;dr I meditated like crazy and stalled my junk food addiction. Easy way to replace junkfood is with 'healthy' junkfood -> video - easy and fast meal prep that will last you more than a day. Well worth it.
No. Hosting dozens upon dozens of servers to cache files costs money. Plus, they also need to buy subscriptions to the DDL services themselves. No free alternative with these features exists sadly - alldebrid has a one-time payment for a month at €3.99, no wires attached. Pretty fair price to test it out.
To connect via a domain name I would recommend using a VPS as a reverse proxy to your server. This is easily done by initiating a Wireguard connection to the VPS, then connecting to your home server via the domain which points to the VPS's ip. Quick google search got me this.
And for wolfgang's blog, all he's doing is setting up NPM then pointing Nextcloud's ip+port to his domain name (which is a DuckDNS). For truenas scale I found this, which basically says that Traefik is a better reverse proxy for scale.
Note: I have not used TrueNAS Scale at all, so take my info with a grain of salt. I personally feel as if using Proxmox and then making 1x TrueNAS Core and 1x Linux containers would be easier, but I digress. Let me know if you have questions.
