  • Ever since CGW stopped publishing, I've just gone back to going by word of mouth. If a real, actual person is telling me in their own words a thing is good or bad, I generally trust them. Especially if they are someone I actually know personally, or at least have shown themselves to have similar tastes to mine.

And obviously if something becomes super popular, I gotta see what the fuss is about if it also seems like something I would like.

  • They suck, but not nearly as much as the people that voted for Trump that are now claiming ignorance of his policies and regret their vote.

  • On the one hand, I sympathize with the Stormcloaks over the religious shit (the concordant banned Talos worship). I mean, the gods actually exist in this world so that's kinda fucked up.

On the other, once I got to Windhelm, I kinda didn't care about that anymore.

"Shit, maybe Talos is the reason these dudes are so racist... They only like him cuz he's a human. And a Nord."

  • He probably goes around asking women to guess what's in his pocket and then whips his penis out through a hole in said pocket.

  • Cooking.

Following a recipe is a good start, and at least allows you to feed yourself beyond microwaved bullshit or going out to a restaurant. Knowing the science behind it, however, can open up new avenues to making dishes you love even if you can't get all of the usual ingredients because you will know what you can use instead without compromising the taste or texture.

  • No doubt. That's also why they continue to have the same 5 in-house VAs. That's the only good thing I can actually say about Starfield: the dude who voices the Annoying Adoring Fan really hammed it up for this one compared to the same character in Oblivion.

  • I can't even put my finger on the difference. Like... They play the same. They feel the same, mechanically and performatively. And yet Starfield is boring; I have no desire to ever install it again. But I still play Skyrim and Fallout 4/New Vegas. They haven't exactly improved in what they offer, and I don't really go crazy with mods so it's not like rose tinted glasses due to being able to change the game.

The lack of environmental storytelling, the lack of emergent gameplay due to the empty worlds, the overall tone of the story where most of the world building is history and politics given to you in dry, long-winded speeches, the feeling that every single sci-fi reference is as vanilla as you can get like it was written by someone who has never actually read/watched anything in the genre they just have secondhand knowledge of it from hearing others talk about it... It all adds up to something very different from everything else they've ever done while still being in the same janky package.

It's actually kind of remarkable, in a not good way. How the hell does this supposedly project of passion have absolutely no feeling to it?

  • Actually kind of the funniest thing to me about the VA talent for Oblivion is that they got Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean, but they have the least lines of dialogue to any other MQ character in the game.

  • Elon wants to use this opportunity to demonstrate the secret laser weaponry installed in the Starlink satellites. They're not powerful enough to burn anything, but they can coax cats to bite and scratch at things they shine on.

  • So... Is the movie mostly without dialogue or just 1 character who talks to nobody in particular? This is one thing I can not see being anywhere close to what the original is like, because the game wouldn't really make a good movie if they were faithful to the story.

  • Lemons

    Jump
  • "When life gives you bitter oranges and citrons, make lemons."

  • You obviously get a bigger purse. That's Nintendo's scheme. They're in bed with Big Purse to sell more big purses.

  • How much is 80 million Iranian dollars when converted to USD?

Edit: 1 Iranian rial is 0.000024 of a dollar. lol that's not even $2000. I couldn't even pay a month's rent with that bounty.
