Even if it was a local small business, they would be increasing price. Did you think they can absorb 30% tariff when their margin is single digits?

The swing voters in the US is dumb as a brick.

They care a lot more about "culture war" issues.

Then don't. They are free to leave.

American voters are hilarious. Voted out the party trying to bolster Medicare and Medicaid. Then complain the party out of power for not stopping the cut.

Only the rich will have money to buy hundreds of billions of federal land.

Majority of people do not care, but certain very vocal and very rich people do care. AIPAC, wacky evangelical leaders who believe in end times, national security types who see Israel as paramount to US security in MidEast, etc. They get to influence policy because majority will not push back on their policy because Gaza is an afterthought.

Because vast majority of voters do not care what happens in Gaza.

This has more visibility than Sudan, Myanmar, Congo, etc. But its a problem in a far away land.

So few people (in th US) can wag the dog.

Yup. US dollar is not the reserve currency because it's attractive. It is the reserve currency because there simply is no alternative. There simply is no asset that can hold hundreds of trillions of dollar.

Let me tell you another irony.

Scott Bessent, Trump's Treasury Secretary, worked for George Soros, and was one of the key architect for the attack on British Sterling. Go read the wikipedia on Bessent if you don't believe me.

This sounds a lot like Miami.

Tariff is a consumption tax. The poorest spends most of their income on consumption like groceries, clothing, car parts, etc. The price of all of that is going up.

Next stockmarket wipeout reduces wealth of middle class the most, who in turn reduces spending on services that employee working class people.

Poorest always gets hit the hardest in any negative economic event because they are poor.

Aren't drop shippers finished with the recent tariffs, especially closing the loophole of de minimis?

The voters deserve the government they choose. This includes those who abdicated their responsibility by not voting.

Military officer corp is easily the most non-political actors while the enlisted MAGA are diehards.
