  • And don't get me started on the its, theys, and etcetera. The weird ones are so cool~

  • Furry sysadmin here, also trans but not a girl =D

  • Same, for real. My life would have been totally changed if I found the courage to start transitioning 20 years earlier.

  • I got diagnosed ADHD at 6, but never for the autism. Figured out I was enby around age 11 but I tried to tell myself it was just a fantasy and lived in envy of trans women, then almost 20 years went by before research started to show that hormone therapy is good for non-binary folks too.

I'd send this to myself at age 19, when I finally had enough freedom to start experimenting.

  • If they came with the software tools and keys necessary to rip out all their bullshit and install my own OS then I'd consider takin one for free.

  • Given that most kids see their phones more than their parents, the only thing we're missing is growing fetuses in bottles.

  • Autistic here. People rarely say what they mean.

Talking to people to find out their interests are and what things related to those interests they already have is a better way of figuring out what they want. I learned the hard way that asking directly is rude.

  • Literally nobody mentioned Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World"?

We've already got the chemically suppressed culture of distraction and the strictly stratified social hierarchy.

  • Cops are awful shots as a rule, because their firearms training requirements are almost nonexistent. I've never met an officer of the law at a gun range who could shoot as accurately as me and I only spend a couple hundred rounds per year practicing, which is apparently more than 4x as is required to qualify as a police officer.

  • I lost 40 without making any new habits other than weighing in daily with an app that estimates my caloric balance over the last two weeks. Turns out that I didn't need big changes to diet and exercise to get into a persistent decline, though I've lost another 15 since starting hormone therapy

  • The US government has literally been doing that for longer than I'm alive.

Slavery is considered an acceptable form of punishment and our so-called "Justice" system regularly executes innocent people.

  • It's reversed for me.

  • I know exactly how you mean. I didn't feel safe to pursue my transition 'til I got out of that shithole state, and since I'm still presenting masc most folks can't tell by looking at me anyway.

  • Fundamentally, cryptocurrency is a scam.

The idea that anyone can make up their own unregistered securities and start selling them to naive investors is nothing more than a system for encouraging fraud.

Every single purpose given for the existence of cryptocurrency is contradicted by their actual implementation. They do not enable untracable transactions and so are of no utility for the underground economy. They do not enable un-banked consumers to safely store and exchange value as they are risky and volatile. They're more environmentally damaging, less secure, and much harder to use than cash or credit cards.

Who even are they for other than weird tech bros who have made crypto their entire personality?
